Everybody’s planning for Clean ’05

The exhibitors are making plans, the trade associations are making plans, and now is time for anybody who want to be a part of it to make plans. “It” is Clean ’05, which is coming to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, June 23-26.
More than 350 companies were contracted for over 200,000 net square feet of space in the exhibit hall, where every segment of the industry will be represented, from coin-op laundry to drycleaning to industrial and institutional laundries.
Exhibit space can be purchased until the show opens, so with nearly four months to go until that date, the number of companies and variety of products on display is sure to grow. Clean ’03 in Las Vegas had 538 exhibiting companies in more than 250,000 net square feet of exhibit space. The show drew 16,526 people from 82 countries.
Many of those exhibitors will be back for Clean ’05 along with a number of first-time exhibitors.
“The Clean Show offers everything anyone in the textile care industry would need,” said John Riddle, president of Riddle & Associates, the show’s management company. “It gives attendees an opportunity to compare products, see actual working equipment, get answers to their questions directly from the manufacturer, and network with their peers.”
“In addition to the wealth of information that can be gained on the show floor, the show’s sponsoring associations offer a number of valuable classroom educational sessions that relate to all segments of the industry,” Riddle noted.
The educational sessions will begin before the show officially opens on Thursday, June 23. The first sessions start up at 8 a.m. that day and will be held each morning throughout the show. Although each sponsor offers topics related to its segment of the industry, all sessions are open to all registered Clean Show attendees, whether or not they are members of the association.
A ribbon cutting will open the exhibit floor at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 23. Exhibits will open at 9 a.m. on three subsequent days and close at 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Final closing will be 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Pre-registration for Clean ’05 is $45 per person until June 1. After June 1, only on-site registration will be available at a cost of $70. Registration includes entrance to the exhibit hall and all educational sessions. There is no fee for children 17 and under, but they must register and receive a badge to attend the show.
Attendees can register on-line at www.cleanshow.com, the Clean Show’s web site. A registration form can be downloaded from the site and mailed or faxed in. Attendees are encouraged to use on-line registration, but registration forms are available in brochures mailed early this year and can be found in the cosponsoring associations’ publications.
Special room rates at the show’s hotels range from $65 to $165 a night. All of the hotels are within a mile and a half of Orange County Convention Center.
Most are located on, or just off International Drive, convenient to restaurants and shopping. Free shuttle service will be run during the mornings and afternoons between those hotels and the convention center. In addition, the I-Drive trolley operates throughout the day.
In addition to the business advantages of attending Clean ’05, Orlando is one of the nation’s major tourist destinations. Attendees can enjoy its many attractions before and after the show.
Officially titled the World Educational Congress for Laundering and Drycleaning, the show is sponsored jointly by six national industry associations: Coin Laundry Association, International Fabricare Institute, National Association of Institutional Linen Management, Textile Care Allied Trades Association, Textile Rental Services Association of America, and Uniform & Textile Service Association.
In addition to the web site, information about the show is available by contacting Riddle & Associates, Suite 360-C, 1874 Piedmont Road, Atlanta, GA 30324, phone (404) 876-1988, fax (404) 876-5121, or e-mail info@cleanshow.com.

Hotel accommodations must be made directly through the Clean ’05 Housing Bureau to obtain discounted rates at any of the nine Orlando hotels contracted to serve the Clean Show. The deadline for reservations is May 23, but making reservations early offers the best opportunity to be confirmed at an attendee’s preferred hotel.
