CLA offers conferences in Dallas
The secrets to succeeding in the coin laundry industry can be found in Dallas, Texas, this March when the Coin Laundry Association presents an offering of its laundry management conference.
The Westin Galleria Dallas, located at 13340 Dallas Parkway, will host two full days of seminars — one designed for newcomers or those interested in investing in the coin laundry industry, and another more suited to help current owners expand their body of industry knowledge.
“Grow Your Laundry I.Q.” will be the theme of the day for Friday, March 11.
Brian Wallace, CLA president and CEO, will begin the day’s educational sessions at 10:30 a.m. with a discussion of “Creating the Ideal Customer Experience.” Using CLA’s executive research as a blueprint, Wallace will demonstrate how coin laundry owners can change the way they do business in order to meet growing customer expectations.
Following a network luncheon at noon, Myles Mattenson of Paychex will be on hand at 1 p.m. to talk about “Solving Tough Employee Problems.” An attorney and coin laundry expert, Myles will outline some of the latest requirements laundry owners are legally obligated to provide for their employees.
At 2 p.m., “Strategic Business Analysis” will be the topic of a seminar presented by CLA Executive Vice President Michael Sokolowski. In addition to being a member of the CLA staff, Sokolowski is also a coin laundry owner. He will offer his unique perspective on what to look out for and how to make changes that will result in greater profits for your laundry investment.
“Marketing on a Budget” will be the subject of a 3 p.m. session, presented by Sue Lally, CLA’s director of membership and planning. She will share many affordable marketing and advertising ideas that have been incorporated by real laundry owners from all over the U.S.
Finally, CLA Chairman of the Board Bob Eisenberg will round out the day with “The Equipment Equation: When and How to Upgrade.” Drawing from more than 25 years of laundry experience, Eisenberg will give his advice on the dilemma of when and how to replace equipment.
A second day of seminars — “Coin Laundry Basics For Beginners” — is slated for Saturday, March 12.
Eisenberg will kick things off at 10:30 a.m. with a comprehensive look at “Evaluating an Investment in Coin Laundry.”
After lunch, CLA Vice Chairman Clay Pederson will discuss the advantages and disadvantage of “Buying a Laundry vs. Building New.”
At 2 p.m., Brian Wallace will examine “Finding the Right Location For Your Laundry,” breaking down all of the factors a prospective buyer should consider when choosing sites.
Later on, Michael Sokolowski will give a detailed view of “A Day in the Life of a Laundry Owner” at 3:15 p.m., covering everything from collecting coins to maintaining equipment to managing employees.
Lastly, an expert panel will meet at 4 p.m. to answer questions posed by attendees.
Registration fees to attend either the basic or advanced programs offered by CLA are $179 for members and $229 for non-members. That cost includes a network luncheon and all accompanying educational materials.
