A place in the sun awaits in Orlando
Last-minute Clean Show planners need to get in gear now and start making those necessary calls. Deadlines for discount pre-registration and hotel reservations are just around the corner.
Textile care professionals have little time to take advantage of discounted registration rates, and even less time to secure room rates at the block of Clean ’05 hotels.
“The housing bureau closes on May 23, but pre-registration at just $45 a person is open until June 1,” noted John Riddle, president of Riddle & Associates, the show’s management company. “After that, there is still room for everyone who wants to come to this great showcase of textile care equipment and products, but on site the registration fee increases to $70 a person.”
IFI changes topic for opening day
IFI has announced a change i
“Orlando is one of the most popular and exciting destination cities in the country, and a great venue for this show,” Riddle added. “The opportunity only comes every two years to see the products of nearly 500 companies with exhibits covering almost a quarter-million square feet of space. Everything for the textile care industry is there.”
Several hotels will serve as headquarters for the six associations that sponsor the Clean Show: The Peabody Orlando, TCATA, $165 per night; The Rosen Centre Hotel, NAILM, TRSA, and UTSA, $155 per night; the Rosen Plaza Hotel, CLA, $129 per night; and the Renaissance Orlando Resort, $129 per night, as well as the Hilton Garden Inn at SeaWorld, $99 per night, will headquarter members of IFI.
In addition to those hotels, there are five other general housing options: Best Western Plaza, $65 per night; Doubletree Castle Hotel, $105 per night; Embassy Suites I-Dr. Convention Center, $125 per night; Quality Inn Plaza, $69 per night; and Radisson Barcelo Hotel, $95 per night.
IFI said that all of its rooms at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld have been booked but it has established additional lodging options at a nearby hotel. For reservations at that hotel, or for assistance with any other accommodation needs at the Clean Show, contact the Clean Show housing bureau at (866) 553-7437.
Reservations can also be obtained at the official web site for the show, located at www.cleanshow.com.
It is important to note that cleaners can still submit reservations after the May 23 deadline, however, the show rates may no longer be available at that time. And as hotels begin to fill, the options dwindle, too.
All of the official Clean Show hotels are located within 1.5 miles of the Orange County Convention Center. Each will provide complimentary shuttle buses to transport attendees back and forth. They will operate from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. (except for Thursday when they start at 7 a.m.) and from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. On Sunday afternoon, the schedule shifts from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
There will also be an evening loop service from 6:30 to 10 p.m. that will connect headquarter hotels.
Once hotel accommodations are confirmed, pre-registration is the wise way to go for those who want to avoid waiting in long lines at the convention center and have their badges mailed to them ahead of time.
Otherwise, on-site registration will open on Wednesday, June 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. It will also be available on the following day — the first day of the show — at 7 a.m. and any day after that starting at 7:30 a.m. Registration will close at 4:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The exhibit hall hours will be as follows: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Distributors will have access to the exhibits at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
