East Coast Drycleaning school sets summer classes
As outside temperatures rise, the last thing many cleaners want to do is spend more time in the back of a hot drycleaning plant. Instead, cleaners can opt for a somewhat cooler environment by attending summer classes at the East Coast School of Drycleaning.
The school, located in Riviera Beach, FL, will offer several courses in the coming months with live demonstrations and hands-on training, as well as classroom instruction.
An “Introduction to Basic Spotting” class taught by instructor Rick Watson is scheduled for Saturday, July 9. It is intended for both newcomers to the industry and for those who want to update their spotting skills.
Two weeks later, Dan Eisen will teach an advanced silk spotting class on July 23. He will focus his attention on procedures for high-end garments, such as the use of bleach correction of dye bleeding, fluorescent dye breakdown and the removal of difficult stains.
On August 13, Eisen will be back in the classroom for an in-depth examination of counter training. The course will specifically cover the inspection process of problem garments and the use of “Spectralight” in the detection of stains and problem fabrics.
Finally, both Eisen and Watson will work together for a wetcleaning course planned on August 27. Students will learn the proper use of wetcleaning chemicals to clean wools, silks and other fabrics safely, as well as the proper use of chemicals to set dyes, soften fabrics and prevent shrinkage.
The proper programming of wetcleaning equipment will be discussed, as well.
The school is located at 1965 West 9th St. For more information, or to register, contact the school toll free at (866) 783-3322.
