U.S. companies plan for China show
A U.S. pavilion of laundry and drycleaning machinery manufacturers will join this year’s Texcare Asia Nov. 10-12 at the China World Trade Centre in Beijing.
The fair has been certified once again by the United States Department of Commerce in recognition of its value to US firms.
To date, confirmed U.S. exhibitors include Alliance Laundry Systems, American Dryer Corp., Air World, Eclipse Combustion Equipment (Suzhou) Co., Hoffman/New Yorker, Knight, Maxi Companies, Pellerin Milnor Corporation and White Conveyors.
“Texcare Asia provides us with an opportunity to showcase our quality laundry and pressing equipment,” said Lee Wilson, vice president of International Sales for Alliance. “There is a lot of growth in the Chinese market. It has the most potential with the increased trade and tourism.”
Russ Poy of Pellerin Milnor noted that China represents “the largest emerging market in the hospitality and healthcare textile care industries.” His company has been active in the Asian market for over 40 years.
Hoffmann/New Yorker plans to meet customers at Texcare Asia 2005 and consolidate their position in the Chinese and Asian markets. Tom Bolan of Hoffmann/New Yorker said live operation and instructional presentations will take place in his company’s booth.
In addition to the official U.S. pavilion, organizers Messe Frankfurt plan to have a German pavilion at Texcare Asia. There will also be a group of Italian manufacturers participating.
Texcare Asia will be held in China for the first time ever, having previously been held in Singapore and Hong Kong. Interest among buyers in the industry, specifically in Beijing, is high as the local infrastructure is developing and more hotels, commercial laundries, drycleaners and hospitals are being built or renovated ahead of the Olympic Games in 2008.
To further boost interest, the local government is offering interest-free loans to drycleaning franchisees that want to upgrade their facilities.
The last Texcare Asia fair, held in Hong Kong in 2002, attracted attendees from a large cross-section of industry sectors.
