MAC rounds out 2005 schedule with seminars, convention
Looking ahead to the latter half of the year, the MidAtlantic Association of Cleaners will keeps its members busy, first with  several dates for a one-day seminar throughout August, then later with its finalized plans for its CleaningExpo Live exhibit and convention, set to take place at the end of October.
The upcoming seminars will all focus on a topic most plant owners and managers can relate to: how to deal with employees with behavior problems.
The seminar, entitled “Successful Solutions for Unacceptable Employee Behavior — Effective Management Techniques That Result in Positive Performance,” will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. on each of its scheduled dates.
It will look at the hallmarks and causes of bad attitudes and unacceptable behaviors in employees, helping employers recognize symptoms of potential serious problems and how to recognize the signs that indicate trouble is brewing.
The program will also examine how to manage conflict and counsel for improved performance. Several proven techniques will be presented — all of which are designed to achieve long-standing results in the seemingly hopeless battle against employee performance issues.
Other points of emphasis throughout the day will include: how to discipline in order to correct performance problems; how to safely terminate employees when all other attempts fail; and forging ahead and solving problems whenever change and upheaval occurs.
Those who attend will leave with knowledge of how to encourage a more positive working environment, recognize when they are rewarding bad employee behavior, know the proper verbiage that effective warnings should contain and how to react whenever an employee challenges authority, among other things.
The seminars will be hosted by Fred Pryor Seminars in the following cities on these dates: Fredericksburg, VA, August 16; Frederick, MD, August 17; Columbia, MD, August 18; Annapolis, MD, August 19; Norfolk, VA, August 22; Richmond, VA, August 23; McLean, VA, August 24; Washington, DC, August 25; and Towson, MD, August 26.
The cost to attend each one-day seminar is $199 per person, or $189 per person for groups of 5 or more attendees.
Payment is due prior to the beginning of the program.
For more information or to enroll, visit the web site, www.pryor.com or call (800) 556-2998.
