Recently, the South Eastern Fabricare Association held its annual meeting at Callaway Gardens, a 4,000-acre resort and preserve located in the southernmost foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
Amidst the lush collection of plant life, the association inducted its board directors and officers who hope to blossom themselves into their new roles for the current term.
Ray Griffin, owner of Griffin Drycleaners of Sebring, Florida, will occupy the association’s office of presidency.
He will be joined by a quartet of vice presidents, including: Joe Lancaster of Coral Gables Dry Cleaning, Inc. in Coral Gables, FL; Danny Dunagan of Three “D” Cleaners in Gainesville, GA; Johnny Waters of Waters Drycleaners & Laundry in Port Royal, SC; and Mark Watkins of Mark’s Quality Cleaners in Birmingham, AL, who will fulfill the role of executive vice president.
Jim Hardy of Harrell’s Cleaners in LaGrange, GA, will take up the position of chairman of the board.
SEFA also announced its new board of directors, including four men who will represent Alabama: Tim Barr, Leland Waite, and Bill Cook, III will join Executive Vice President Watkins.
From Florida, Joe Lancaster will perform double duty as an officer and a director, as well. Other directors hailing from the state are: Gary Dawson, David Mariotti, Rick Miller, Greg Myers (an IFI District Committee Member), M.C. Rogers, III, and association president Griffin.
Vice President Dunagan will represent the board of directors from Georgia, along with Julia Campbell, Stan Martin, Jr., Ron McLamb, Barry Morgan, Pete Rountree, Billie Stewart and Warner Wade.
Another vice president — Johnny Waters — will be joined by fellow South Carolinans Perry Bullard, Leonard Carroll, and Ed Robinson to make up that state’s board directors.

Looking ahead to the coming months, SEFA has added a seminar date to its calendar of events. Instructor Fran Sadler has been enlisted to speak in Atlanta Georgia during the first two days of October.
She will cover both basic and advanced techniques for stain removal.
Much further down the road for the association will be its 2006 Southern Drycleaners Show. SEFA already has released plans for its date and location.
The event will take place from July 29-30 next year at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center, located at One International Drive in Savannah, GA.
