Hybrid class hydrocarbon machine
WEST BABYLON, NY — Columbia Drycleaning Machines says its new Ipura offers a unique method of garment cleaning that uses Class III-A hydrocarbon solvents while removing the

need to spin the load in extraction. The no-bath cleaning technology removes dirt from garments by a power washing, vapor phase process.
Ipura is a closed loop refrigerated heat pump non-venting system. The hybrid class technology incorporates Columbia/ILSA’s Iv1K, Wet & Dry Quick Dri Mach 2 technology with an air power loading door to enhance the performance of cleaning in hydrocarbon. The machine is controlled by a touch-screen IL.3 microprocessor with a modem.
With a total liquid capacity of less than 18 gallons, there is no need for base tanks or storage tanks. Also, the filtration system eliminates the need for distillation. There are no springs, no bolt-down, no steam, no distiller and no solvent cooling required.
Utility requirements call for 208-220V three-phase/60Hz, one-quarter-inch @ 85 psi air and a one-half-inch water inlet at 60°F, four gallons per minute.
Columbia said the Ipura is designed to address the regulatory challenges and landlord preferences facing dry-cleaners today.

Water chilling supplement
Augusta, GA — The Winter Chiller from American Chillers and Cooling Tower Systems provides supplemental chilled water when the outdoor temperature is above 50°F and 100 percent free cooling of process solution when the outdoor temperature is below 50°F, using cold winter air to chill process water-glycol solution.
The company said the unit works on any brand of chilled water system or cooling tower system. It is installed in front of the chiller to cool returning warm water and remains off if the water is cold enough. There is an automatic temperature control to maintain water above 45°F. In warm weather it uses an automatic bypass.

Smoke and soot treatment
TULSA, OK — Fire Load from Royaltone is a batch additive that is added in drycleaning or wetcleaning to remove soot and smoke stains from fire damaged garments and  household items. The company said it can be used in any drycleaning fluid, any drycleaning machine and in any wetcleaning or laundry washer.
For drycleaning, two ounces are added to the wheel per ten pounds of fire damaged items to remove soot and smoke stains. Batch clean for five minutes with no filter in any drycleaning fluid.
For wetcleaning, two ounces per ten pounds are added to the wash water, then wash for five minutes to remove soot and smoke stains.
