SOUTH BEND, IN — ThermoSteam Systems, Inc., has introduced a new modular boiler concept that allows the company to guarantee the lowest price for drycleaning steam boilers. ThermoSteam introduced the new boilers at the 2005 Clean Show in Orlando, Fla., June 23-26.

With this new, stand-alone boiler, drycleaners can use their existing return tank and pump or they can purchase ThermoSteam’s Insta-Therm integrated return system, which pre-heats the return water for improved efficiency and quick recovery.

ThermoSteam Boilers deliver a full head of steam in 15 minutes or less from a cold start. Integrated and external return systems can be added to the system.

The company’s boilers offer other advantages. Their vertical, compact design takes up less floor space and they fit through a standard-sized door. The unitized helical water tube assembly generates steam faster than traditional tube arrangements.

ThermoSteam boilers are backed by a 5/10/15-year limited warranty covering the tube assembly, steam drum and shell. Boilers equipped with Insta-Therm are backed by a 20-year warranty against thermal shock.

Low NOx, low-emission boilers are also available that produce nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide levels below 20 ppm and meet California (rule 1146.2 SCAQMD) and Texas air quality standards.

SO. PASADENA, FL — MBH Enterprises, Inc. reports that, although its Rope-Ties were designed to reduce labor costs by eliminating shake-out, wholesale shirt laundries and drycleaners have discovered another feature. By tying shirts order by order, the shirts come off the shirt unit pre-sorted, providing substantial labor savings, and eliminating sorting mix-ups. If an occasional tag comes off in the wash, it is no longer a problem as the shirt is now with the rest of the order.

Single shirt orders can be tied together with as many as eight shirts per log, as recommended by MBH. When they come off the shirt unit, they can be inspected and bagged immediately.

MBH says that rope-tied shirts come out cleaner for two reasons: The increased drop in the wash at 12 to 1 o’clock, rather than a 3 to 4 o’clock roll, delivers an increase in mechanical action; and the method of tying the “log” with two ties, one below the shoulders and one just above the cuffs, directs the mechanical action to the collars and cuffs, the heavily soiled areas of the shirts.

Shirt orders tied in logs can put an end to tangled sleeves, making it easier and faster to unload the washer.

MBH Enterprises offers Rope-Ties in five colors for easy control of laundry classifications, including starch (no, light, medium, heavy), rush, store, route or others. Use of the logs created with MBH Rope-Ties eliminates the need for nets.

The MBH Rope-Tie System features a no-slip stainless steel spring lock device on a long-lasting polyester rope to keep shirts securely tied, yet easily opened after washing. A simple instruction sheet showing the easy-to-use, storage and attachment method is included with each order.

LOS ANGELES, CA — JTG Enterprises, Inc. has developed a system that will clean, wash and dry mats ranging from small car mats to long carpeted runners.

The Pro-Matic and Dry-Matic products turn the labor-intensive activity of hand washing mats into a systematic process of feeding mats into a machine, providing both deep cleaning with quick drying. The mats are cleaned using a combination of pressured water and brushes, all self-contained within the portable system. They clean industrial mats as well as rugs up to 4 x 10 feet in size and produce dry, clean mats in just over two minutes.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Kaeser Compressors, Inc. has expanded its line of Sigma Frequency Control compressors. The new SFC 11 rotary screw compressor combines Kaeser’s proprietary Sigma Profile airend, Sigma Control Basic system and state-of-the-art drive technology to offer 17 to 75 scfm in pressures to 217 psig.

TULSA, OK — Royaltone’s Starch Magic is liquid starch that will starch polyester blend shirts by reaching the polyester fibers that regular starch cannot touch, giving a crisp polyester blend shirt that would otherwise be limp and lifeless.

One ounce is injected into the laundry washer starch cycle for each ten pounds dry weight of laundry items. It can be used in addition to regular starch used for other fabrics. For heavy starch add up to two ounces per ten pounds dry weight. The starch cycle is a minimum of five minutes.

Starch Magic is available in gallons, four gallon cases, five gallon pails and 15-gallon drums. Samples are available from Royaltone.

TORONTO, ON — Reliable Corp, has announced three new products for the drycleaning and coin laundry industry.

The new i300 steam generator iron gives cleaners and coin-op operators quality pressurized steam at not much more cost than a conventional gravity feed iron. It uses regular tap water and provides 50 psi operating pressure with up to two hours of continuous steam. The unit has a stainless steel tank and outer casing and has a low water indicator light.

The c88 portable vacuum pressing table has a motor mounted in the middle of the table for maximum vacuum even at the tip. It is made entirely of metal to ensure stability and sturdiness, even for heavy-duty professional work. A built-in heating element helps dissipate the steam and keeps the inside of the machine dry and rust free. It can be used from either the left or right side and folds up quickly for storage.

The table weighs 50 pounds and measures 16 x 57 x 10 inches.

The 614A professional vacuum pressing table has a 0.8 hp vacuum motor for high volume environments. Standard features include an exhaust chimney for hot air, a high quality pad and nylon cover and a built-in heating element to assist drying. There is an optional swing arm and sleeve buck for increased flexibility.

The table weighs 175 pounds and measures 16 x 60 x 24 inches.

The Bryan Boilers manual contains general corporate and product/services information, as well as specific information and descriptions regarding steam and hot water; forced draft, oil and duel fuel, atmospheric gas and electric boilers, engineered products and other engineering information.

Bryan Boilers feature Bryan’s exclusive “Flexible Water Tube” design, which assures rapid internal circulation for maximum heat transfer and operating efficiency. Tubes are easily removed from one side and replaceable without welding or rolling. Minimum service space is required, as little as 24 inches for tube removal. Bryan Boilers carry a 25-year non-prorated warranty against damage from thermal shock.
