WFI offering two-day Spot Safe seminars in Butler, WI
The teaching team of Dennis Schmitt and Tom Swink from Lindeman’s Cleaning have amassed over 56 years of drycleaning experience together. They hope to impart some of that knowledge during their two-day Spot Safe seminar scheduled for Oct. 21 & 22.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on both days at the Herb Fitzgerald Company in Butler, WI.
The all-inclusive spotting seminar will cover a wide range of topics, including: spotting board techniques and maintenance; fabrics, buttons, construction and limits; chemicals — dry side, spot removal on an assortment of materials; burn testing; pH testing; spot removal from various materials; and a review of fabrics stains and chemicals.
Lunch will be provided for attendees on both days.
The cost to attend is $115 for WFI members; however, non-members must pay $285 each.
Those who need hotel accommodations can call the nearby Baymont Inn at 5442 North Lover’s Lane (close to I-45 and Silver Spring). Recently, the room rates were posted as $69.99 per night for single occupancy and $75.99 per night for double occupancy.

CLA sessions on coin laundry come to Chicago
The Coin Laundry Association will be in Chicago this November as part of its ongoing seminar series covering coin laundry basics for both beginners and veterans.
The seminars will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel located at 5460 North River Road in Rosemont. A room rate of $119 is available to those who call (800) 222-8733 prior to Oct. 13.
On Friday, Nov. 4, the association will host its laundry management portion of the conference, starting at 10 a.m.
Industry experts who will speak include CLA president and CEO Brian Wallace, CLA executive vice president Michael Sokolowski, Clay Pedersen of Business Consultants International, and Bob Eisenberg, chairman of CLA’s board.
Among the topics are: “Creating the Ideal Customer Experience”; “What’s Your Laundry Worth?”; “Strategic Business Analysis”; “Marketing on a Budget”; and “The Equipment Equation: When and How to Upgrade.”
Saturday sessions will be aimed toward newcomers to the industry. Friday’s speakers will return to discuss coin laundry basics, including: “Evaluating an Investment in Coin Laundry”; “A Day in the Life of a Laundry Owner”; “Finding the Right Location for Your Laundry”; “Buying a Laundry vs. Building New”; and an “Ask the Experts” panel will top off the schedule.
Registration is $179 per member for those who sign up prior to Oct. 14; non-members pay $229 each before that date. Otherwise, registrants pay $229 per member and $279 per non-member.
