IDLA enjoys successful annual convention in Nashville, IN
The Indiana Drycleaning & Laundry Association hosted its 2005 convention at The Seasons Lodge in Nashville, IN, where cleaners enjoyed two days of educational offerings, entertainment and even a round of golf at Otter Creek Golf Course.
There was also enough time to induct the association’s newly-appointed officers and board directors for the coming 2005-2006 term.
Steve Arthur of Bloomington Cleaners in Bloomington, IN, will take over as the new IDLA president. Joining him will be Tony Milto of Milto Cleaners in Greenwood at the secretary position, and Joel Updike of Betty Brite Cleaners in La Grange as treasurer.
Shifting over to the position of past president will be Gary Maloney of Nu Yale Cleaners, located in Jeffersonville.
As one of his first duties as president, Arthur appointed several allied trade members to the IDLA board, including: Sam Doogs from E.J. Thomas; Bob Hale of Haiges Machinery; and Bill Davis from Laundry City.
Also on the association’s board of directors is Tammy Cole from Old Capital Cleaners in Corydon in the District 1 spot and Marty Stephens of Crosstown Cleaners in Bloomington will oversee District 2.
The District 3 position will now be held by Chris Birk of One Hour Cleaners in Peru. Tim Day of Classic Cleaners in Indianapolis will take over in District 5.
IDLA also announced its new Director at Large: Tony Ellis of  Morellis Cleaners, located in Indianapolis.

MILD inducts officers for 2005-06 term
The Michigan Institute of Laundering and Drycleaning recently announced its new officers for the 2005-06 term, including incoming president Jeff Fetters of Sanitary Cleaners in St. Joseph, MI.
“I am honored to be elected president and look forward to maintaining a strong and effective organization,” he said. “MILD continues to expand its membership benefits and bring even more services and education to the many fabricare professionals in Michigan.”
Fetters will be joined by fellow officers Julie Plassman of Plassman & Company, who will be president-elect and David Underdown, Jr. of Douglas Cleaners in Birmingham, who will serve as secretary/treasurer for the association.
Leon Puzevic of L&C Puzevic, Inc. in Paw Paw, becomes MILD’s past president.
David Dupuis of Clayton Cleaners of Bay City will now become chairman of the board. Donnelly K. Eurich, CAB, CMP, will now serve as executive director.
The Michigan Institute of Laundering & Drycleaning represents fabric care specialists and suppliers and manufacturers of related equipment and supplies in Michigan.
