SEFA to host four seminars in GA, FL during February
The South Eastern Fabricare Association have enlisted the aid of drycleaning experts Jane Zellers and Martin Young to teach four seminars in February.
The first two will be held in Savannah, GA, and will be presented by  Young, a second generation cleaner and graduate of UNCC.
He has served as an industry trainer and consultant since 1991, and his plant in Concord, NC, was one of the very first in the country last September to earn an “Award of Excellence” for quality garment cleaning and customer service.
To date, he has conducted numerous seminars in the eastern United States for SEFA, the International Fabricare Institute and the North Carolina Association of Launderers and Cleaners.
On Thursday, Feb. 16, he will present a class on “Counter Sales and Service Training” at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront located at 100 General McIntosh Blvd.
The program will run from 7 to 9 p.m.
Registration fees are only $10 per person for both members and non-members.
Young will be back at the Marriott Savannah Riverfront for a seminar on “Safe Spotting” on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The course will last all day long, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m.
Cleaners will be given an overview on some of today’s problem stains and learn the correct uses of several stain removal agents.
The cost is $99 for IFI/SEFA members; however, the price drops to $89 each for additional members from the same plant. Non-members must pay $129 each in order to attend.
In the latter part of the month, cleaners will have two seminar options in Florida taught by Jane Zellers, CED.
A third generation cleaner, she is a consultant, lecturer, and a former drycleaning plant owner with lifelong experience.
Well-versed in a variety of subjects, Zellers hopes her attendees will greatly benefit from her teachings.
“After attending one of my seminars,” she notes, “I want each person to feel more confidence in handling routine problems as they arise.”
First, she will host “Drycleaning Finishing” on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Unipress Equipment Corporation, located at 3501 Queen Palm Dr. in Tampa, FL.
The program will begin at 9 a.m. and run until 4 p.m.
Zellers will demonstrate how finishing is more than just pressing and how even experienced cleaners can refresh and expand their basic finishing techniques.
Registration fees are $99 for SEFA/IFI members and $89 for additional members from the same plant. Non-members must pay $129 each.
Zellers will be back at Unipress on the following day with a full day program on “Laundry Finishing” that runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration fees will once again be $99 for IFI/SEFA members; $89 for additional members from the same plant; and $129 per non-member.
Online registration is available at SEFA’s website, located at www.sefa.org. From the home page, click on the “Events and Seminars” option, then look for the link labeled “To Register Online - Click Here”.
