Web site design and hosting
DRAPER, UT — Westgate has announced its new web design and hosting service which can eliminate problems drycleaners may have had in the past with creating and maintaining a web site.
Westgate said it has teamed with a major web design firm, The Digital Ranch, to create a product that even the smallest of drycleaners can use to create a polished and professional presence on the internet.
The content is totally maintained by the drycleaner with a simple, self-guiding user interface available under password access from the internet. Content changes can be made in minutes and the actual web site will be updated in real-time in seconds, the company said.
To give each drycleaner’s web site a unique look, the initial drycleaner logo graphic is professionally designed and maintained by The Digital Ranch. Cleaners can also create their own.
The technology is available to any drycleaner for a small initial fee and monthly web hosting fee. Westgate Software manages the web hosting service as part of the monthly fee in the same $40 million commercial data center that houses SPOT Application Hosting, a 99-percent uptime facility with full 24-hour facilities management and backup redundancy.

Simplified tumbler control
RIPON, WI — UniMac has designed its new QT dual digital control for tumblers to be user-friendly, predicated on the understanding that laundry rooms are more productive when staff spends less time having to learn to operate laundry equipment controls.
UniMac’s dual digital control has simplistic features, including variable temperature controls, manual time adjustment and time-remaining display.
Operation is as simple as selecting the desired temperature, heat and cool-down times and pushing the start button. The machine does the rest, clearly indicating on its display the cycle time remaining. The control also offers an anti-wrinkle mode at the end of the cycle, a feature normally only found on tumblers with microprocessor controls. The anti-wrinkle mode alternates between the stop position and rotation until the door is opened or 60 minutes has elapsed.
Further simplifying the drying process is a one-touch start button to repeat the previous cycle. The feature is helpful in drying identical loads back-to-back.
A move to QT-controlled tumblers by UniMac means laundry room staff will spend less time learning and programming machines for operation and more time on productive tasks. The dual digital control is offered on UniMac’s 25- through 170-pound tumblers. Adding to the focus on productivity, 25- through 75-pound tumblers have reversible loading doors to improve workflow.
