Free exhibits, seminars
at Clean Canada
The Canadian textile care industry will hold its trade show, Clean Canada 2006, April 28-30 at the Toronto Congress Center.
Organizers expect more than 100 exhibitors to be on hand showing their latest products and services to an audience of more than 4,000 laundry and drycleaning professionals. Show hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 28 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30.
Admission is free for persons 16 years old and older if they pre-register before April 5. After that date, visitors will need to bring a registration form to the show for free admission. Without a registration card, there is a $20 on-site fee.
Free seminars will be offered on the show floor. A 1 p.m. Friday seminar will address the topic washroom and wastewater treatment trends. Terry Shoreman, president of Washing Systems Inc., and Tom Storm, vice president of technical development at Washing Systems Inc., will be the presenters.
Roger Cocivera, president and CEO of the Textile Rental Association of America, will speak on the state of the linen supply economy at a 2:30 p.m. seminar. The afternoon’s concluding seminar will be led by Rocco Romeo, chief executive officer of Healthcare Linen Service. He will cover “Converting Disposables to Reusables: An Ottawa Success Story,” at 4 p.m.
The first seminar on Saturday will feature Maria Mascall, water efficiency coordinator for the city of Toronto. Her 10:30 a.m. session will address the city’s cash incentives for high efficiency commercial and industrial laundries.
“The Future Looks Tough — What Can You Do To Survive?” will be the subject of a 1 p.m. seminar led by Bill Fisher, CEO of the International Fabricare Institute.
The day’s final seminar will address wetcleaning, led by Dan Goldman, national sales manger of Wascomat USA, and Alexander Seitz, president of Seitz GmbH.
Trends in garment finishing will be the first seminar on Sunday at 2 p.m. Wesley Nelson, president of Sankosha USA, will be the speaker. Steve Bowman, eastern sales manager with Sail Star USA, will lead a 3 p.m. seminar.
The Toronto Congress Centre is located just off Highway 401 near Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. The Centre is serviced by public transit and there is plenty of free parking nearby.
