Rope ties for shirt laundering
SOUTH PASADENA, FL — MBH Rope Ties, although originally designed to eliminate
shake-out of shirts for the shirt unit, also aids in other
aspects of the shirt laundering process, bringing cost
reduction and other benefits to the production floor.
By tying each order separately with MBH
Rope-Ties, shirt sorting, assembly and errors are greatly
reduced. When shirts come off the shirt unit, the orders are
kept together, cutting sorting time in half. If a tag is lost
in the wash, the shirt remains with the order, reducing
detective work or a possible claim.
Single shirt orders are tied together for
faster processing. Another benefit is easier washer unloading.
MBH Rope-Ties prevent sleeves from tangling and torn sleeves
are a problem of the past.
Users have reported increases in wash
loads by as much as 33.3 percent when shirts are tied. Taking
less volume in the wheel results in a “free” load
every three to four loads, saving time and costs for supplies,
water, sewage and labor. Increased loads can also eliminate the
need for additional wash capacity and additional investment in
equipment.
When shirts are tied, they receive
increased mechanical action from a 12 to 1 o’clock drop
rather than a 3 to 4 o’clock drop when washed loose or in
nets. With one MBH Rope-Tie located below the collar and
another above the cuffs, the mechanical action is directed to
the heavily soiled areas, delivering a cleaner, brighter shirt.
The five MBH Rope-Ties colors give the
laundry a tool for better control. Different colors can be used
for various starch classifications, routes or other purposes.
Solvent purification
ARLINGTON, TX — Krystal-Klean Powder from American Colloid Co. provides solvent
purification for hydrocarbon drycleaning systems using
cartridge or spin disc filtration.
The powder removes moisture, odors, dyes
and NVR through non-hazardous filtration media, optimizing
solvent performance by inhibiting carbon attachment and
eliminating distillation.
American Colloid Co. is a producer of
bentonite clay, which has a chemical structure that gives it a
diverse range of capabilities including acting as a thickener,
sealant, binder, lubricant or absorbtion agent. The
company’s markets include metalcasting, oil and gas well
drilling, industrial specialties and agriculture. A pet
products group offers a line of traditional, scoopable and
alternative cat litters.
Compressed air cleaner
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Kaeser Compressors’ High Temperature Refrigerated Dryer
(HTRD) removes moisture and filters contaminants in one
compact, easy-to-install, low-maintenance package.
The HTRD includes a precooler/reheater,
chiller, two-stage separator/filter and automatic drain, and is
designed to work well in environments where contaminant levels
are high.
The HTRDs are designed to handle high
inlet temperatures and are ideal for 5 to 25 hp piston
compressors in commercial and industrial facilities.
The AS-T units feature Kaeser’s
“split cooling air flow” design that improves
cooling and reduces noise levels. All units feature the Sigma
Profile airend and deliver flows from 59 to 112 cfm and
pressures from 80 to 217 psig. The AS-T models also include a
new space-saving cabinet design that provides easy access to
service points.
Mini series tunnel finisher
DENVER, NC — Leonard Automatics has announced the next generation of its Image
Mini Series tunnel finisher. The new model, called the IM
Series, is currently available and has already been shipped to
several facilities.
In the IM Series, the storage rail is
constructed to return the garments to the front of the machine,
which allows one operator to load and unload garments while
working in a relatively small space.
Installation has been simplified. Only a
pallet jack is needed to unload the unit upon delivery and it
can be easily moved around the facility quickly and safely,
reducing costly rigging fees and installation charges.
The IM Series is available with either
gas or steam heating systems. Fully stainless steel
construction protects against the harsh environment within a
laundry.
RFID labeling starter kit
PHILADELPHIA, PA — A competitively priced, multi-component
starter package that supports the production of Gen 2 RFID
labels is now available from Avery Dennison Printer
Systems.
The package, called the Avery Dennison
Basic Gen 2 Starter Kit, supplies companies with the components
to initiate RFID Gen 2 labeling operations. The system is
recommended for use in apparel, footwear, retail, packaging,
distribution and a broad range of industrial markets.
The starter kit contains the Avery
Dennison AP 5.4 RFID Printer, Windows-compliant Label
Management System (LMS) software and a starter roll of RFID
carton/pallet labels. Also included are on-site installation
assistance and toll-free phone technical support.
The starter kit’s RFID printer
encodes and verifies RFID Gen 2 and Gen 1 chips and prints all
popular bar codes, graphics and copy on label surfaces. Its
detect-and-reject capability automatically identifies
“bad” labels with a printed marker. The AP 5.4 has
advanced communications features, including Ethernet, serial
and parallel interfaces.
Avery Dennison’s LMS software
program features Wizard-driven screens and design tools that
guide users through the label-creation process. The program is
preformatted with sample RFID labels.
Work station spot cooling
PROSPERITY, SC — The Hydro-Star Spot Cooling system from Aqua Products Co. is a chilled water air conditioning system that
provides a stream of cool, dry air exculsively to each employee
at a work station.
The heart of the HSSC system is the
Deluxe Glycol chiller which us designed to produce the lower
water temperatures needed to dehumidfy the air. The other
APCI-designed component is the commercial, high-pressure
water-cooled air handler where cold water water cools and
dehumidifies the incoming hot air.
The HSSC systems is designed to take
outside air, cool it by about 15° to 20° F and
dehumdify it in a single pass. The cool dry air is forced out
of the high-pressure blower and down an insulated round duct to
each employee’s work station. The insulated ducts insure
that the air will stay cool and dry all the way to the
employees.
The employee has complete control of the
direction of the cool air flow by adjusting the Superflex
fitting.
