NCA plans compliance sessions, more webinars
The National Cleaners Association will be hosting several offerings of classes at its New York School of Dry Cleaning while continuing its web-based seminars in the months of May and June.
Located at 252 W. 29th St. in New York City, the school will host an Extreme Stain Removal course on Sunday, May 7.
The eight-hour session will meet from 8: 30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuition is $250 for members and $275 for non-members.
Also on Sunday, May 7, Korean cleaners can take part in the first day of a two-day program covering the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation certification. The Korean-language course will run from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. over two consecutive Sundays. Tuition is $509 for members and $975 for others.

As is the case in all of NCA’s webinars, registration is completed on a first-come, first-served basis as there is limited participation. The cost for telephone and web-based participation is $69.
Cleaners can also purchase CDs of all past webinars at a cost of $69 plus $7 shipping and handling.

The class will cover everything you need to know to become a master cleaner, from the chemistry of stain removal, to garment construction, fiber identification and machinery operation and maintenance.
In addition to classroom sessions, sample fabric swatches are treated with a wide variety of stains and students are given numerous opportunities to practice and develop proper stain removal techniques and skills.
The class will meet evenings from 7 to 11 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday through Aug. 6. The cost is $970 per student.
On Wednesday, June 7, NCA will present a webinar on the topic of “Insurance.” It will begin at 6 p.m. ET and cost $69 for telephone and web-based participation.
