RMFA hosting annual conference May 5-7 in
Colorado Springs
It will be a busy three days for those
who attend the Rocky Mountain Fabricare Association’s annual conference, “Growing Your
Business Through Excellence,” May 5-7 in Colorado
Springs.
The association has planned four
educational seminars, a golf tournament and a planning session
open for all members.
The RMFA Microfiber Masters Golf Tourney
will tee-off at 10 a.m. on Friday morning at the Gleneagle Golf
Club at 345 Mission Hills. Registration to participate is $69
per golfer.
Later that evening, RMFA will host a
welcome reception with tabletop displays from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
and a group dinner at Marigold Cafe afterward.
On Saturday morning, the tabletop
displays will be open from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
Immediately following, Joni Canterbury
and Kathryn Stewart will present an hour-long session on
“Performance in Excellence Through Environmental
Compliance.” There will be a slideshow presentation
demonstrating how cleaners can achieve environmental
compliance. They will also look at the kickoff of the first
Environmental Results Program for the industry in Colorado and
how it will affect cleaners’ businesses in the future.
Canterbury is from the Colorado
Department of Health Small Business Assistance Program and
Stewart is with the Generator Assistance Program.
At 10:15 a.m., Lorrie Janick of Craft
Training Partners, a drycleaning consultation firm specializing
in on-site and internet-based training will discuss
“Customer Retention Through Excellence.”
A luncheon with awards, presentations and
time to again explore the allied trades exhibits will follow.
At 1:30 p.m. “Dryclean Dave”
Silliman will look at the “State of the Industry.”
Silliman a third-generation cleaner with decades of experience,
is the IFI representative for District 7.
Silliman will be joined by Tom Janick to
co-present a seminar at 2:45 on IFI’s “Award of
Excellence” program. Janick is the vice president of
Craft Training Partners.
On Sunday, the final day of the
conference, RMFA will have an open-door planning session at 8:
30 a.m.

$100 per RMFA member and $125 per non-member. For the golf
tournament there is an additional fee of $69 per golfer.

Wetcleaning seminar comes to Seattle
The Washington State Drycleaners
Association will be holding a wetcleaning seminar in Seattle,
WA, from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 6.
The event will take place at
Corry’s Fine Drycleaning, located at 4640 Union Bay Place
NE.
Jeff Lenz of Fabritec International will
present the class which examines fibers and fabrics and how
they are affected by the wetcleaning process.
Lenz, who has over 24 years of cleaning
experience and owned and operated Lenz Fine Dry Cleaning in
Charleston, SC, for over 14 years, will also discuss proper
classification, the importance of water levels, proper use of
chemicals and prespotting/
postspotting.
The seminar is free for all WSDA members
and only $10 for non-members.

Permagro plans May open house
Permagro Dry Cleaning Equipment Sales
