TAMPA, FL — The Lightning NT2 from Unipress features formed bucks, contoured chests, side air bags and pleat enhancers to produce quality shirts. Men ’s shirts as large as size 20 can be finished on the unit.

The contoured chests apply high squeeze pressure to the formed buck and air bags for fast drying and a a quality finish. The pleat enhancers are designed to keep sleever pleats crisp and sharp without flattening the cuffs.

Superheated air and steam injection that dries and finishes the sleeves quicker lead to fast production rates.

Unipress said that a one-operator set-up can produce more than 60 shirts an hour in 100 square feet of floor space. With two operators in 148-sq.-ft. of space, shirt production of more than 100 per hour can be achieved. In a three-operator set-up, more than 200 shirts per hour can be produced in 220 square feet of space.

The unit has an open design and color-coded air lines to facilitate maintenance. Microprocessor controls with self diagnostics and a scheduled maintenance indicator light aid the process.

Other features of the unit include a foot-operated collar clamp and cuff clamps, a high capacity blower, and multi-pass heat exchanger.

Designated Impress XLD, the biodegradable propylene glycol ether-based laundry degreaser delivers cleaning power to aid in removing grease, body oil-type stains and other oily soils from shirts, linens and uniforms. It can reduce launderer ’ usage of alkali and sour, so they potentially will have fewer chemicals to inventory at their facilities.

Impress XLD works over a broad temperature range and does not leave behind a residual odor, the company said. The amount used can vary depending on the types of soils, stains, fabrics and laundry equipment.
