TexCare Asia sets 2007 dates
Following its success in Beijing last year, TexCare Asia, the international trade fair for textile care, will return to China in 2007. The event will be held from Sept. 19-21 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
Texcare Asia is a marketing platform for a wide range of laundry and drycleaning equipment.
China’s textile care industry has prospered in recent years due to a number of factors, including the fact that the country’s growing middle class has become more fashion and hygiene conscious. Also, an overall increased environmental awareness in China has spurred sales for newer and more efficient drycleaning technologies.
The Chinese government has introduced tax incentives for manufacturers and end-users to use more energy-efficient technologies. Consequently, a number of hotels, hospitals, commercial laundries and drycleaners in China are investing in new laundry and drycleaning equipment.
Drycleaning franchisers are also flocking to the area as opportunity arises. During the second half of 2005, the Spanish drycleaning company Pressto and the French company 5áSec — both world leaders in retail textile care — opened several outlets in Shanghai.
As the cleaning industry grows in China, so does the exhibit area for TexCare. The show will feature an additional 4,000 square meters of floor space. The last show, held in Beijing, attracted around 120 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions.
