Victoria Secret’s latest fashion
show got a helping hand from Leading
Cleaners International (LCI)
affiliates Meurice Garment Care and Margaret’s Cleaners.
Wayne Edelman of Meurice Garment Care in
New York City was contacted by Fashion Group International
(FGI) to provide “spot cleaning” and general
garment care for the lingerie at the Victoria Secret Fashion
Show in Los Angeles at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
Edelman had just returned from Milan.
“I flew in from Milan and received a rather urgent call
from FGI to pack up all my equipment and to be in Los Angeles
the next day,” Edelman said. Unable to go, he
collaborated with 5-Star LCI affiliate Chuck Horst of
Margaret’s Cleaners in La Jolla, CA, to gather all the
equipment for the event.
Packing up a spotting board, compressor,
vacuum and “On Site” machine, along with blow
dryers, an extensive array of proprietary detailing materials
and a formidable staff, Horst and his team cleaned numerous
outfits in between two shows.
“We were given three hours to take
70 outfits just worn for a 3 o’clock showing and return
them stain free for the evening show,” Horst said.
“The pressure was on, as both shows were being filmed to
be turned into a TV special to be aired on December 5th. The
fact that Justin Timberlake was the guest performer and was
backstage with the crew didn’t relieve any of the
pressure. Nothing short of perfection was an option. So that is
what we gave them.”
LCI affiliates are committed to the
fashion industry on many levels and work closely with
designers, manufacturers and retailers. LCI provides couture
cleaning and care, with a “100% Safe Cleaning
Guarantee.”
