More classes, seminars expand NCA’s educational schedule
The National Cleaners Association already boasts a full schedule of upcoming educational programs this year; however, the association recently beefed up its calendar a little bit with a few more listings.
From March 12-17, NCA will now offer a week-long course on “Radical Drycleaning/Stain Removal” at its New York School of Drycleaning, located at 252 W. 29th St. in New York.
Attendees will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day between Monday and Friday.
The cost is $750 for members and $995 for non-members.
Also added to the New York School schedule is a Korean version of its 80-hour comprehensive drycleaning course. The class starts on March 20 and meets for ten consecutive weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 11 p.m.
Tuition is $970 for members and $1,170 for non-members.
NCA will also offer two new seminars in March outside of New York. First up is a two-day, 16-hour course on “Stain Removal and Pressing” that will take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 24 and 25. Cleaners will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the The Clothes Dr. in Foothill Ranch, CA. The cost is $455 for members and $595 for non-members.
Also new to the schedule is a one-day wetcleaning course that will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 at City Laundry and Cleaners in Camden, SC. Tuition is $250 for members and $275 for non-members.
Remaining on NCA’s calendar of events are several other educational opportunities, including two outings of its two-day, 16-hour DEC Certification course at its New York school.
A Spanish version of the class meets on Feb. 4 and 11; an English version is set for March 11 and 18. Both begin at 9 a.m. each day and run until 6 p.m. The cost is $509 per member and $975 per non-member.
An “Extreme Pressing Techniques” course will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1 at Cudney’s Cleaners in Albany, NY.
Back at the New York school, NCA will hold an “Extreme Stain Removal” course from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Feb. 25.
Tuition for either “extreme” course is $250 per member and $275 per non-member.
Cleaners looking for more advanced studies may consider NCA’s four-week “Principles and Practices of Pressing” which meets from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at its New York school.
The cost to register for the class, which begins on Feb. 12, is $380.

Another popular educational option from NCA is its webinar series.
There are several on the upcoming schedule, including one on “Routes: Developing and Growing Them” on Feb. 7.
