Restorationists plan “Solutions Convention” in Orlando
Education, network and business growth are three excellent reasons why
restoration professionals and textile experts for carpet, rugs and upholstery
should make a point of attending the Association of Specialists in Cleaning
& Restoration’s “Solutions Convention” March 13-16.
The event will be hosted at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel & Spa in Orlando, FL.
The ASCR Exhibition will feature nearly 115 booths with exhibiting companies
showcasing the latest tools and equipment for restoration and cleaning
professionals.
The exhibit hall will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, from
10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, and from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on
Friday, March 16.
Those who wish to relax with a round of golf prior to the convention can arrive
a day early and sign up for a golf tournament on Tuesday, March 13. It will run
from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Keynote speakers for the three-day event will include Robert Stevenson and
Robert J. Overton, Jr..
Stevenson will draw from over 25 years of extensive corporate and hands-on
entrepreneurial experience for a program on
“How the Best Get Better.” He will examine a wide range of topics on what it takes to be successful, from
customer service and accounting to client accountability and marketing.
Overton, a director of business and human resources, will discuss “Training: The Key to Millennium Employer & Employee Success.” He will help business leaders prepare for an inevitable shortage of trained and
motivated workers.
The conference will also feature several other guest speakers who will cover a
variety of environmental, restoration and textile-related topics for attendees,
including everything from restoration trends to cleaning and repairing rugs.
A block of rooms has been reserved for ASCR convention attendees at the Buena
Vista Palace Hotel
& Spa, located at 1900 Buena Vista Dr. It is about 23 miles away from Orlando
International Airport and is about a 30-minute drive.
To make reservations, contact the hotel at (866) 397-6516.
A shuttle service is available to and from the airport at a round-trip rate of
approximately $31 per person. ASCR has a $4 off coupon on its web site.
Registration for the event costs $695 for each first attendee from an ASCR
member plant; additional plant members pay $595 each.
For non-members, the cost goes up to $895 for the first attendee from a
non-member plant and $795 for each additional attendees from the same plant.
Registration for a spouse costs $495 for ASCR members and $795 for non-members.
There are optional registration packages, as well. Those who wish to sign up for
the golf outing on Tuesday must pay an additional $225 flat fee, which includes
the cost of lunch, and all golf and tournament prizes.
Attendees have four methods for signing up. They can register online at www.ascr.org. Click on the Solution’s Convention link from the home page. From there, cleaners can register online
or download a printable PDF form.
They may also call (443) 878-1000, send a fax to (443) 878-1010, or mail forms
