CPDA hosts Carl Gardner golf tourney
The Central Pennsylvania Drycleaners Association will be hosting its annual Carl Gardner Golf Tournament this year at the Briarwood Country Club in York, PA, on Thursday, Sept. 20.
As always, the proceeds will benefit the York County Special Olympics.
The tournament was started 16 years ago by Carl Gardner as an outlet for cleaners who wanted to join together and support a valuable cause while enjoying a relaxing day.
Under his guidance, the event has raised thousands of dollars for the Special Olympics. Recently, the event was renamed to commemorate Gardner, who passed away in June of 2006.
Gardner was similarly honored by the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute with a Commitment to Professionalism Meritorious Service Award at Clean ’07 in Las Vegas.
The entry fee for the tournament is $85 per person. The cost will include 18 holes of golf, free range balls, lunch, dinner and lots of beer and soda.
Briarwood Country Club is located at 4775 West Market Street, York, PA 17404.
