Robert Hale, a sales representative for Haiges Machinery Co. in Indianapolis,
IN, was killed in a car accident in Boone County, IN, on Sept. 15.
His wife, Patricia, a passenger in the vehicle he was driving, was also killed.
Their daughter, Kenzie, 19, also a passenger, was hospitalized in critical
condition. Hale
’s car, a 2005 Taurus, and one driven by 20-year-old Leigh Ann Smith collided
about 8:36 a.m. on State Road 47 west of Sheridan, according to the Boone
County Sheriff's Department. Both Smith and Hale
’s daughter were airlifted to Methodist Hospital.
Hale was born Sept. 12, 1959, in Indianapolis, the son of Kenneth Eugene and
Paula Marie (Cherry) Hale and was a 1978 graduate of Franklin Central High
School. He attended Indiana State University and Indiana University-Purdue
University Indianapolis.
He attended Grace Community Church and enjoyed spending time with family and
watching or participating in sporting events. He also enjoyed studying history
and scuba diving, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by a son, Evan Robert Hale; and two
brothers, John A. Hale of New Palestine, IN, and Nicholas E. Hale of Franklin,
IN.
