ISFA retools web site with new look, features
The Illinois State Fabricare Association has revamped its web site in recent
months, now offering a sleeker look for online visitors.
Those who visit the site, located at www.isfa.net, will also have access to a variety of new features and information.
In addition to offering an overview of ISFA’s history and all of its affiliations, the site lists a “Code of Ethics” that serves as a guideline for its professional members.
The site has maintained the usual features, such as a calendar of events and
contact information for all of the association
’s officers and board directors, but members can now download meeting minutes in
PDF format of ISFA
’s gatherings.
ISFA members may also want to direct their customers to the site as it has
useful information for consumers, including links entitled
“Facts About Fabricare,” “How to Select a Drycleaner,” “FAQs” and “Drycleaner Locator.”
Consumers may also learn more information on the Star Dry Cleaner Recognition
program.
Two leather, suede classes in Joliet, IL
Hands-on suede and leather cleaning courses are being offered by Suede Products
Nov. 9-10 and Dec. 7-8 at the company
’s school located at KC Leather Cleaners In Joliet, IL.
Students will learn professional suede and leather cleaning procedures,
including how to properly accept garments at the counter, how to recognize and
treat problem garments, how leather and suede are tanned; identification and
treatment methods for all garments, and safe and effective pre-spotting
methods.
Also to be covered are proper cleaning procedures featuring wet processing,
pressing and steam/air finishing methods, spray re-coloring procedures, selling
your services and how to increase your business.
Students will be expected to take part in all processing during the hands-on
session. Each student can bring up to six garments with you to be processed.
A registration fee of $295 per plant allows up to three students from a plant
and covers the school itself along with breakfast and lunch on Saturday and
Sunday.
Hotel accommodations are available at the Holiday Inn, 411 S. Larkin Ave. in
Joliet at the rate of $65 per night. For reservations call the hotel,

John Conway shares his two decades of experience in a two DVD set.
The DVD course covers leather and suede tanning techniques, identification and
treatment methods, spotting methods and proper wetcleaning procedures. Also
covered are pressing and steam/air finishing techniques and spray re-coloring.
The discs also provide information on marketing suede and leather cleaning
services.
