Steiner-Atlantic to host live equipment Expo in February
Potential car owners take advantage of test drives to make purchasing decisions easier. For drycleaners, the process of buying new production machinery is not any different.
This February, Steiner-Atlantic will offer drycleaners a chance to kick the tires and take new equipment out for a spin before they decide whether or not to park it in their plant for good.
The “all live” hands-on Expo 2008 International Dryclean & Laundry Show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9 and 10, at the Steiner-Atlantic facility located at 290 North East 68th St. in Miami, FL.
In all, there will be over 60,000 square feet of operating exhibits, including the newest Tonsil Powder Spin Disc Filter System.
Also on display will be the latest tensioning equipment, shirt units, automated assembly conveyors, coin-op equipment, computer systems, as well as the most recent GreenEarth and hydrocarbon machinery.
Exhibit hours will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The event, which will include food and beverages, is completely free to the public.
There will also be several educational seminars, including spotting lessons by Alan Spielvogel, chief garment analyst and technical director for the National Cleaners Association.
Also on hand will be nationally recognized wetcleaning innovator and instructor Ann Hargrove. She will provide demonstrations designed to make the wetcleaning process easier.
“Correct Plant Equipment Maintenance Procedures” will be offered in a classroom seminar by Jim Goulet, a service manager for the Steiner-Atlantic Corporation.
Finally, Leslie Smith and Ron King of the Florida Department of Environmental Quality will discuss proper environmental compliance and how cleaners can handle inspections.
Those needing overnight accomodations can procure them at the nearby Best Western on the Bay Inn and Marina. The hotel offers free transportation rides to the show.
The cost is $159 per night for single or double occupancy for those who call (305) 865-7100 and mention the Steiner-Atlantic Expo 2008.
To register for the show, call (305) 754-4551 or visit www.steineratlantic.com.
