Coin launderers to gather in Chicago for CLA conference
The Coin Laundry Association will have its 2008 conference at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel in Chicago July 21-23.
Attendees have a choice of 14 seminars, ranging from attracting apartment laundry customers and going green to understanding leases. The three-day educational event will be broken into two segments. The first, offered on Monday, July 21, is ideal for people looking to get into the coin laundry business or who have recently purchased a store. Attendees will learn the “ins” and “outs” of laundry acquisition, investment evaluation and operations.
Speakers at the Monday session will be Dan Naumann, Great Lakes Commercial Sales, Inc.; Jay McDonald, Alliance Laundry Systems; Bill Gilbert, Service Laundry Machinery Corp. and Bob Eisenberg of Wholesale Commercial Laundry Equipment Co., a division of Qualclean Equipment, LLC.
Current laundry owners will benefit from the two-day workshop from Tuesday and Wednesday sessions.
Jeffrey Barman will open the management segment of the conference on July 22 with his Big Business Thinking philosophy. Attendees will learn how to maximize profit by determining and assigning appropriate price levels.
After Barman’s presentation, Dan Goldman of Wascomat Laundry Equipment will provide the “Five Compelling Reasons to Retool.” Later in the day, John Vassiliades will help store owners ready their business for sale.
On Wednesday, July 23, attendees will hear how Jason Wentworth, an environmentally aware laundry owner, has made easy, cost-saving improvements for both him and the environment. Then Mike Floyd of Continental Girbau Inc. will walk attendees through novel marketing concepts and consumer-focused techniques.
CLA will host a networking dinner in conjunction with the conference at the Signature Room located on the 95th floor in the John Hancock Center in Chicago. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception and hors d'oeuvres while guests enjoy musical entertainment. Following a buffet dinner, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with their peers while enjoying the city skyline from a unique view.
For attendees bringing a guest, there is a limited supply of dinner tickets available for purchase. The additional tickets can be purchased at the time of registration.
