CCA’s Fabricare ’08 promises challenging program
Those planning on attending the California Cleaners Association’s Fabricare 2008 show will have plenty of top notch educational seminars to choose from.
The event will be held from Aug. 22-24 at the Long Beach Convention Center. Registration is $15 per person.
Kicking off the seminars will be one by Diana Vollmer, president of Methods For Management, Inc.
She will present “How to Increase Profitable Sales Now” on Friday morning at 10 a.m. She will help attendees optimize their sales and profits.
On Saturday, Kelly Kelleher of Kelleher Equipment Supply, Inc. will discuss “Lease Negotiation” from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. She will emphasize details such as hidden costs, fine print conditions and environmental concerns to help cleaners avoid lethal leases.
Kelleher will be followed by Norm Kory of Wyatt-Bennett Equipment Co. and Joven Lactaoen of Joven’s Sales and Service who will take the podium for “Drycleaners — What to Do Before Calling a Mechanic.”
With decades of machine care and maintenance experience under their belts, Kory and Lactaoen will be able to help cleaners save on their bottom line by increasing the performance of their equipment. There will be a translator on hand for Korean attendees during the seminar.
On Sunday morning, Mike Belote, a lobbyist for CCA, will present a “Legislative Update” from 8 to 8:45 a.m. so cleaners can get an inside scoop on the latest regulatory issues that directly affect the drycleaning industry.
Next up will be Cleaner Remedy’s Peter Krasnoff, P.E. and Jan Greben, Esq. to talk about “Environmental Issues with Chemicals” from 9 to 10 a.m. Both speakers will share success stories of plant remediations, as well as examine the intricacies of how insurance policies work.
Lastly, Chris Allsbrooks will bring her trademark humor and expertise to a program on “Customer Service and Care Labels” at 10:15 a.m. Allsbrooks plays a leading role in DLI’s “Problem Garment” video series and will have information on the latest problems plaguing cleaners.
When cleaners are not in the seminar rooms taking notes, they will certainly want to head to the exhibit hall for a look at all of the latest industry-related technology, services and equipment. At least 74 companies had reserved space in the exhibit hall which will be open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m on Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
There will be plenty of of time to socialize, as well, including a “Time to Soar” cocktail party at the Hyatt at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
CCA will also present its “President’s Reception” at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening where the association will install the new officers and hand out awards to honor standout industry members.
