Atlantic City may be famous for its boardwalk and gambling casinos, but those in the drycleaning industry recognize it as the home to the Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners Association’s biennial Expo event.

This year, the regional trade show and exposition will be held from Oct. 24-26 at the Atlantic Beach Convention Center, located at 1 Miss America Way.
PDCA has sold more 180 booths which will offer all the latest and greatest technology, products and services that the industry has to offer.
Attendees will be able to peruse the exhibit hall between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Registration for access to the exhibit area is free to the general public.
As an added bonus, all PDCA members will also enjoy two free admissions to all events hosted by the association throughout the weekend, including the educational seminars.
This year’s educational program will explore how drycleaners can look toward the future by cutting costs and increasing profits right now.
The first session on Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. and feature Barbara Harvey, CED, CPD.
Harvey is DLI’s Chairman of the Board and is the owner/operator of Fabricare By Fran in Severna, MD. Her session is entitled “Get the Right Resources.”
Afterward, Trudy Adams will take the podium for a session called “WOW Your Customers.”
Adams is a dynamic speaker who currently works as the director of customer service and sales at Cleaners Supply.
On Sunday morning at 9 a.m., former PDCA President Joe Schmidt will lead a session on how to “Cut Your Expenses in Today’s Environment.”
He will discuss methods to cut expenses while maintaining quality and productivity during the interactive session.
Lastly, North Carolina drycleaner Sto Fox will share some of the ideas he has employed recently at his own plant in order to boost his profits this year.
Fox serves as the executive director of the North Carolina Association of Launderers and Cleaners. His seminar will be called “Boost Your Profits: I Did It and So Can You.”
There will also be a pair of social events during the weekend to give cleaners a chance to socialize and relax. The first will be an opening reception at the Sheraton at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday evening, PDCA will host an elegant cocktail reception, also at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s headquarters hotel will be the Sheraton Atlantic City located right next door to the Atlantic City Convention Center.
