Weiss will help manage FRSTeam by Love Cleaners, a franchise that handles garment and textile restoration in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
Weiss has trained many drycleaners in this specialty and will play an instrumental role in building FRSTeam by Love Cleaners and sharing his knowledge with all members in the FRSTeam network.
“I am excited to be in a position to bring the industry in which I have dedicated my career to an even a higher level through the country’s premier network of restoration drycleaning specialists,” Weiss said.
As a third generation in a family of drycleaners, tailors and clothing designers, Weiss took charge of the family business in 1971 at the age of 17. When a customer of the family’s retail drycleaning store suffered a severe fire, Weiss took an interest in developing methods to restore clothing and other textiles damaged by fire, smoke, water and other perils in a time when there was no expertise in this field.
He became one of the first drycleaners to transition from a retail business doing restoration as an additional service to a restoration drycleaner with a separate business and facility solely dedicated for this purpose.
Over the years he has developed, innovated and implemented methods for inventorying, deodorizing and processing textiles back to pre-loss condition.
Weiss has served as a board member for several associations of drycleaners and textile restoration specialists, has been a columnist for industry trade publications, and was appointed as an advisory committee member to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection by Governor Corzine.
FRSTeam is an international franchise serving the needs of the insurance industry in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom by providing fabric restoration services for wardrobes and textiles damaged by fire, water, sewage, and mold.
FRSTeam has more than 20 years experience in restoration drycleaning. More information is available by calling the company at (866) 374-3778 or visiting the web site, www.frsteam.com.

Natural Cleaners gets venture capital
Advantage Capital Partners, a venture capital and small business finance firm, has announced a $1.9 million investment in Natural Cleaners Colorado LLC.
Advantage Capital's investment, made in connection with Colorado's Certified Capital Company (CAPCO) program, will be used to form two new cleaning operations in Grand Junction and Steamboat, with possible future expansion to other locations throughout the state. A centralized plant in each location will service a number of drop stores providing maximum neighborhood coverage and customer convenience.
Natural Cleaners began operations in 2005 in Avon, CO. The company uses various drycleaning and wetcleaning processes, including liquid carbon dioxide and GreenEarth cleaning.
“The use of traditional chemicals in this industry is being scrutinized by concerned regulators, therefore it is critical for drycleaning operations to find alternative cleaning methods,” said Donald Oswald, Natural Cleaners’ founder and general manager.
Advantage Capital Partners (www.advantagecap.com) focuses on investing in promising companies in connection with federal, state and local economic development efforts.
The CAPCO program is a state economic development tool designed to strengthen state economies by stimulating the flow of investment capital to local small businesses, creating jobs and increasing state tax revenues.
Under a CAPCO program, insurance companies are encouraged to invest in certified capital companies. The state allows the insurance companies to claim tax credits for qualified investments in CAPCO funds.
