DLI heads to Las Vegas for Five-Star Conference
“Mission Impossible: Surviving in a Tough Market” will be the theme of the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute’s Five-Star Conference at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, NV, Feb. 11-13.
Four speakers have been lined up to address various aspects of survival, beginning with Dave Eisele of Davelle Clothiers.
In his upscale business, which serves movers and shakers in Washington, DC, he focuses on understanding the customer, going beyond typical expectations to achieve loyalty and respecting, no matter what, the economic environment.
He will be one of three speakers on Thursday, Feb. 12.
National Clothesline columnist Frank Kollman will also speak on Thursday, counseling cleaners on how they should respond to initiatives that could make union organizing easier in small business operations.
Rounding out the Thursday program will be a session by Kim Marie Branch-Pettid, CEO of LeTip. A firm believer in strong word-of-mouth marketing, she will show how to grow a business one referral at a time.
Production streamlining will be the topic on Friday, February 13. Dave Pomeroy of Dave Pomeroy Signature Training will be the speaker.
He revolutionized production in a hearth and fireplace company so that it could produce one unit in a few hours instead of several days. He will explain how his methods can be applied to a drycleaning operation to maximize production and reduce waste on the workforce.
Conference attendees will also have a chance to exchange ideas in a less formal setting during a welcome reception on the evening of February 11.
The Bellagio is offering a special room rate of $199 not only during the conference but also three days before and after for those who want to extend their stay in Las Vegas.
Room reservations should be made by January 12 by calling the Bellagio at (888) 987-3456 and mentioning the codeword “DLI.”
Registration for the conference is $629; additional attendees from the same DLI plant can register for $429. Members of DLI’s Premier Club receive one free registration.
To sign up, visit DLI’s web site online at www.ifi.org and click on the “Five-Star Conference” link from the homepage.
