Who’s showing what at Clean ’09
Clean ’09 will feature approximately 400 companies exhibiting in the Morial Convention Center with nearly everything that is needed to operate a drycleaning business. To help readers prepare for their visit to the show, we asked our advertisers to provide information about their plans. A.L. Wilson Joining the A. L. Wilson line of products for removing stains from textiles will be EasyGo, a drycleaning spray spotter for use with hydrocarbon solvent. EasyGo quickly penetrates fabric to release ground-in soil, collar and cuff stains, perspiration, etc. Soiled areas are sprayed before drycleaning; no brushing, flushing or waiting is required. Aero Tech USA The Aero-Tech Green-Jet cleaning machine will be operating live. The Multi-Jet hydrocarbon/GreenEarth cleaning machine will be on exhibit. AVC Pneumatic Valve Inc. AVC Pneumatic, specialists in pneumatic solutions, will have the latest solenoid valve, steam valve, fluid control valve, angle valve, butterfly valve, ISO standard cylinders and air supply treatment components. Booth 2902.

Cleaner Business Systems  Cleaner Business Systems is a browser-based point-of-sale system for drycleaners of all types and sizes with specific functionality for more specialized operations such as discount-prepay cleaners, valet services, and many more. The browser-based architecture is different than other point-of-sale systems in the drycleaning industry. The internet and the ability to access data on a real-time basis open many doors to becoming more efficient and profitable. Booth 4413.

Columbia/ILSA Machines Corp. Columbia/ILSA has increased the size of its booth to 3,000 square feet to showcase its Ipura machine and other products which will operate in live demonstration. Five new products will be included in the model line this year with sweeping changes in the design elements of all products. In addition to Ipura, Columbia/ILSA will show Drynique, its new reclaiming dryers for Class III solvents, the redesigned TL HCS C3, a new tandem hydrocarbon system and two new compact models. Booth 3447.

Commercial Coils, Inc. Commercial Coils offers an extensive inventory of precision-built replacement coils for laundry and drycleaning equipment. The company also offers shell and tube heat exchangers and replacement tube bundles, inline solvent coolers, still condenser coil re-tubing, and high efficiency evaporative coolers. Customer service reps will be available to answer any questions. Booth 5115.

Drycleaning & Laundry Institute DLI’s 2009-2011 Encyclopedia of Drycleaning CD will be available, featuring a new downloadable, easier-to-use  format and more powerful and accurate search. Representatives from Irving Weber Associates will be in the booth to discuss business insurance. Cleaner’s Capital, DLI’s endorsed lending program, will also be in the booth with information on equipment financing. Visitors can apply for the Award of Excellence and DLI’s Premier Club. Clean Show sponsor pavilion, Booth 1446.

Dry Cleaning Computer Systems DCCS, a software developer of management tools and automated solutions to the industry for 25 years, has a new and rewritten version of CA SORT, a Windows-based computer assisted sorting and assembly system. CA SORT plugs into the existing DCCS system without modification to the assembly area. Its small footprint design lends itself to tight spaces. The efficiencies, accuracies aOf cpurse, we at National Clothesline will also bend speed of sorting orders with CA SORT surpasses manual methods. The system supports bar coded paper tags, heat seals or RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and can handle upwards of 100 orders per hour. DCCS will also demonstrate the speed and ease of its Windows touch screen point-of-sale management systems as well as DCCS software solutions. Booth 2913.

EnviroForensics Four staff members will be available at the newly designed display booth to talk with drycleaners about what the company can do to help those facing environmental problems. Steve Henshaw, owner of Enviroforensics, Nancy Shields, Mel Lindstrom and Marti Russell will be ready to discuss how the company has helped more than 200 drycleaners. All visitors to the booth will be invited to enter a drawing. Booth 1054.

European Finishing Equipment In addition to the company’s popular Hi-Steam tensioning machine, SAM451 Shirt and Blouse Finisher, and other Hi-Steam tensioning machines, the company will introduce a new shirt finisher. The new machine will rival the traditional hard-buck finisher with its speed and production but with the added benefit of energy savings (25 percent savings) and hand-finished quality. There will be live demonstrations with wet and dry garments. Visitors are welcome to bring their own garments to the booth and try the machines for themselves. Booth 4646.

Fabricare Management Systems Fabricare Management Systems will introduce a host of new features at Clean ’09. The new employee “My Mail” system that allows secure communications between employees at all levels will be demonstrated. Mail features include employee mailboxes with inbox, sent items, deleted items and draft folders along with alerts notifying employees of unread mail. Administrators can custom configure each employee’s address book to limit messaging between only those that require it will be shown along with how to setup  administrators or managers to have their mail forwarded directly to their e-mail address if desired. Also being demonstrated will be new customer e-mail capabilities and features, including how to use the new e-mail triple preview features and how intelligent order-ready e-mail messaging operates with stragglers and holds. Also shown will be a new image library that allows customization of any e-mail image and includes sample coupon images for birthdays, dollar off, percentage off, seasonal and weekday specials. How to use more than 80 new e-mail templates for order-ready, statement billing, card billing and promotional e-mail messages will be demonstrated. Fabricare Management Systems will also demonstrate how to use Microsoft MapPoint with not only route stops but also with demographic maps that include top customers. Booth 2013.

Fabritec International A full-service line of biodegradable cleaning solutions based on renewable resources for today’s environmental and economic climate will be featured. Products include Expert Laundry System, Restoration Process, and systems for professional wetcleaning and all drycleaning solvent applications. The Sanitone product line includes an exclusive “print on demand” direct-mail consumer advertising program featuring photography from leading clothing designers. The technical support staff will be available to help cleaners navigate through industry changes. Brand names: Sanitone, Fabritec and Stamford. Booth 2861.

Felrap World Inc. Wrapping equipment protects and enhances products by wrapping them in a tough and clear PVC plastic. The FS series semi–automatic wrapping system is capable of speeds of eight to 10 packages per minute. Booth 2831.

Firbimatic Firbimatic will be unveiling new machine models, featuring the Saver SM “Save the Maximum,” which is an alternative solvent machine that requires no steam and no water. Saver SM is the answer for cleaners who want to reduce utility and operating costs. Firbimatic will also unveil the new Hy-Saver, hybrid alternative solvent machine. Hy-Saver features a new jet cleaning system, which enhances cleaning and speeds up cleaning operations. Standard cleaning cycles are also available for conventional cleaning. Hy-Saver is a culmination of new cleaning processes, utility savings, and new lower pricing. Firbimatic also will introduce the new EcoDry reclaimer. The quickest way to increase hydrocarbon production is to add a reclaimer. Firbimatic will also feature many other alternative solvent and perc machines. Booth 4447.

Forenta Forenta will introduce three new shirt presses to meet customers’ needs. The model 821SBSP is a combination body and sleever press with pleat finishers. The Model 841 SBS is a combination body and sleeve press with cuff clamps. The Model 811SBV is a single buck top go with the three-piece shirt unit. All new models feature the classic style head and buck that finishes a sider range of shirt sizes, 14 1/2 to 2X. Also on display and running live will be the Model 491SLMAC double legger sandwich style that produces 70 to 90 pants per hour with Forenta’s steam air toppers. Unveiling for the first time will be the Model 42MSR manual press; the new model 461 SURMC-BV self-contained press to the international market; the new Model 77SASL dual air bag sleever and other recent models. Booth 3521.

Foster-Stephens, Inc. Foster-Stephens will introduce four new products at the show. These include 62-inch 100-percent cotton muslin archival garment bags for storing coats, evening dresses, furs, leathers and suedes. The four-inch gusset allows room for storage of several garments at once. Also, the Forever Keepsake Pak, an acid-free, archival quality preservation memory box, is perfect for preserving band and military uniforms, costumes, first communion dresses, baby afghans and quilts. The box measures 22 12" x 18 12" x 4 58". The Golden Keepsake Pak (32 12" x 19 12” x 7 ¼”) and the Golden Deep Keepsake Pak (32 ½” x 19 ½” x 10 ¼”), are acid-free  preservation boxes for preserving bridal gowns,  costumes, quilts, band and military uniforms as well as quinceanera and prom dresses. Also on display will be samples of personalized garment bags with both end user (e.g., a bride, or a graduate) and store logos available. Booth 1760.

FRSTeam FRSTeam is a leading national restoration drycleaning franchise ranked by Entrepreneur Magazine as #35 in the Top New Franchises in 2008, will have several current franchisees at the show to give feedback on the program. The FRSTeam brand is growing, both in expanded coverage and in same store sales. With current coverage in 35 states, FRSTeam will be stressing the limited number of territories still available. GreenEarth Cleaning GreenEarth will demonstrate a prototype laundry technology at Clean Show 2009 — a breakthrough in “green cleaning” that uses up to 90 percent less water than commercial washing machines. Booth 4827.

Harris Pillow Supply Inc. The Pillow-Vac, a pillow renovating machine, will be exhibited, showing how to take old feather and down pillows and make them like new again. Booth 2508.

Iowa Techniques Iowa Techniques designs and manufactures products for the garment care professional, servicing the drycleaning and laundry industries. These products are developed from years of experience in the garment cleaning industries as well as from requests for products improving quality and efficiency by professionals throughout the world. Booth 4601.

Kleen-Rite Kleen-Rite/KR Products will show the Master Cool Evaporative Cooler, a newly designed unit that features a heavy gauge galvanized steel for cabinet panels and other load bearing components. Plastic water reservoir shields keep water from coming into contact with the steel cabinet for durability and the all-steel components are chemically treated and covered with polyester finish. Evaporative media cellulose paper is treated to resist biological degradation. Also on display will be the re-designed KR Products Water Chiller line. Chiller models, ranging from two through 24 tons, include an insulated 80-gallon tank, stainless steel pump and digital temperature control module. Chillers are charged with an ecologically friendly 404 refrigerant. The Kleen-Rite Filtration Purification Cartridges for perc, hydrocarbon and silicone solvents will be displayed, as well. These cartridges are available in small and large format sizes. The HM-4 from our Hydro-Mist line will be a working display. This line eliminates perc or petroleum contaminated water.   Booth 1601.

Kreussler Inc. Kreussler, Inc.’s research and development in textile processing has led to innovations such as the patented Miele System-Kreussler using the Lanadol line of wetcleaning chemicals and chemistry for GreenEarth and liquid carbon dioxide solvent cleaning as well as drycleaning detergents for both perc and hydrocarbon applications. Kreussler also offers a system of spotting chemicals. Booth 1639.

Maineline Computer Systems The latest version of Compassmax, a complete computer system for drycleaners, will be featured. Compassmax will highlight auto-assembly integration and features. A new assisted assembly module that can assemble orders with the help of a side screen at assembly will be introduced. Compassmax has a new graphical interface, including new touch-screen options that make the software easier to use and includes additional features. A new web-based on-line customer information will be demonstrated in which a drycleaner’s customers can check their account balances, their profile, make a payment, schedule a pick-up, etc. Users can design their own reports with a new custom query reporting tool. New devices will be shown including a pocket PC that can be used for drive-thru operations, racking and route-scanning. Some of the new screens in Compassmax can be personalized for individual reporting needs. New, improved e-mail templates will be introduced that can personalize e-mails sent to customers. M&B Hangers M&B manufactures wire garment hangers in a wide variety of styles and sizes, along with trouser guards and garment covers. M&B coats each hanger with a specially formulated Electro-Deposition Paint formulated for M&B by PPG, a leader in EDP coatings. Booth 3309.

MBH Rope-Ties See MBH Rope-Ties in action. Five colors  red, white, blue, green and yellow; swivel mounts for organizing and checking shirts. Learn how to cut costs, reduce costly labor and improve production efficiency. Booth 3261.

Multimatic Multimatic has a full line of drycleaning machines, specializing in both alternative solvents and conventional solvents. Multistar drycleaning machines, designed for efficient operation with most of today’s alternative solvents will be featured. Hydrocarbon solvents, silicone-based solvents, glycol-based solvents and others can all run in the Multistar, letting the user switch from one alternative to another. Booth 4635.

National Fire & Indemnity Exchange  NIE, which has insured drycleaners for almost a century, has come up with a game just for drycleaners and will invite them to play “Name that Stain.”  Experts will be on hand to advise on insurance for drycleaning plants, drop stores, laundromats or any other business associated with fabric care. Bring a copy of your policy, minus the premium, and the staff will review and give you tips to keep from being caught by surprise after a loss. Booth 2802.

Parker Boiler Parker Boiler manufactures industrial steam boilers from 1.5GP to 150HP with pressures of up to 250 psi capable of delivering steam within 10 minutes. The company also makes hot water boilers, director fired hot water boilers, thermal fluid heaters and storage tanks for an array of applications from process heating to laundry and drycleaning. Featured at the booth will be Parker’s 9.5 HP low-nox cutaway boiler and 15 HP cutaway boiler designs. Booth 2265.

Rema Dri-Vac Corp. Rema will show air vacuum units; boiler feed systems both steel and stainless steel; blow-off separators; boiler feed pumps; circulating pumps; and solvent pumps; condensate tanks; storage tanks; stainless steel tanks; and a water treatment device. Booth 4531.

Sailstar USA Sailstar manufactures commercial textile cleaning machines with a large range of drycleaning equipment, drycleaning finishing equipment, and laundry washer extractors. Booth 2613.

Sankosha Labor savings, innovation, quality and productivity are among the features incorporated in the working equipment showcased in the Sankosha USA booth. A few new concept models (sheet press and shirt folding), both for the industrial and commercial sides of the industry, will be shown. These machines will help streamline operations as well as grow profits. By listening to customers’ suggestions, Sankosha has also updated its current line of products including shirt pressing (both single and double bucks), drycleaning (pant and coat finishers) and the latest in bagging and packaging equipment. Booth 3530.

ScanQ SanQ marks its 19th anniversary with reduced prices and complimentary offers for a range of customers from single-user businesses to multi-store locations. The company will be exhibiting its Garment Management System. Booth 1936.

Solvair The Solvair cleaning technology combines unsurpassed soil and stain removal with environmental friendliness in a practical, sustainable, cost effective system, offering tangible benefits that include high productivity, longer garment life, and fewer garment claims. The Solvair fluid is a low-volatility liquid with a broad range of soil removal capabilities. Drying is performed without heat in a succession of cool rinses in pressurized liquid carbon dioxide to remove the Solvair fluid. At the end of this liquid carbon dioxide rinsing process, the pressure in the wheel is reduced until the liquid carbon dioxide converts  back to gas, completely drying the items in wheel. The result is a drying process that is faster, more even and efficient than drying with heat. Without the heat and tumbling of conventional drying, stains do not set and garments retain their original qualities through successive wearing and cleaning cycles. Booth 5032.

DashBoard (live demonstration), an extremely useful feature for multi-store operations, is a user-configurable, web-based status center that provides secure, real-time company or store-level operational information from any location in the world via the internet. Access to the SPOT DashBoard is available through a PC, Mac or IP-based cell phone; SPOTscan II Portable Terminal (live demonstration), the popular SPOTscan portable terminal, has been completely redesigned with support for order racking, physical inventory, and process step scanning. Scanned data is sent by wired download or WiFi; CustomerConnect-AutoDial is a new autodialing system, fully integrated with SPOT, that provides outgoing phone reminder calls for route pickup reminders, ready orders, and orders overdue for pickup. Trevil America/Imesa USA  Trevil will show a new and updated range of wetcleaning and tensioning equipment. The Venice Wetcleaning System is a complete wetcleaning system with special features on both the washer and the dryer so garments can be processed and completed at the speed of drycleaning. The system also includes the tensioning and finishing equipment needed to complete the work.  Live demonstrations will take place throughout the show. The Princess Ultra Tensioning Finisher handles wet and dry blouses (including small petite), shirts (including XXXL and larger), lab coats, chef jackets, and more. A patented dual, rotating front clamp system allows instant switching between one type of garment, wet or dry, to another without removing, storing, and reattaching another clamp. A new version of the Trevistar Tensioning Shirt Finisher will be introduced. Known for its ability to finish a high quality, hand-finished looking shirt at the speed of a single buck shirt unit, the new model adds cuff pressing plates. Other modifications speed drying time, allowing for fast processing of high quality finished shirts. Updated versions of Trevil’s line of tensioning form finishers and tensioning pants toppers will be displayed. These new models are more energy efficient, with electrical requirements less than half of earlier models. Additional Trevil models on display include the “EZ Line,” models of tensioning equipment that are simpler and more economical versions of Trevil’s high end tensioning models. These models operate on 110V. As the exclusive representative of Imesa, the Italian manufacturer of laundry equipment, Trevil America has formed the Imesa USA division and will display representative models of Imesa’s line of washers and dryers ranging in capacities of 18 to 200 pounds. Unipress Corporation Unipress offers a complete line of shirt pressing and finishing equipment for drycleaning, commercial, and industrial applications. Every Unipress machine sold is inspected and tested before shipment to provide the highest reliability and quality for the end user. Booth 3231.

Veit Veit will show the latest technology of ironing/pressing and finishing equipment. Veit has manufactured equipment for the textile care and textile manufacturing industry for more than 50 years with trend-setting concepts for worldwide customers. “Made in Germany” means outstanding quality and support in all aspects. VEIT Americas in Atlanta provides a reliable base in the United States for spare parts, supplies and support. Booth 4420.

Y.A.C. Corp., USA Y.A.C. will introduce a new single-buck finishing system, YPS-302E, which features a Panasonic touch-screen with a Panasonic computer to maximize productivity at 70 shirts per hour. The unit has front split heat plates, a back stretch mechanism and an air bag cover to minimize touch-ups. Y.A.C. will also introduce a new bagging machine, YBH-007E, with full automated and semi-automated modes. The machine can produce 200+ bundles per hour with a maximum of three shirts per bundle. Using a screw conveyor, the operator only needs to hang shirts; the system will automatically take care of bagging. Booth 4621.
