Spot users gather for conference
Snowbird Mountain reaches a height of 11,000 feet at its peak, which is considerably higher than the expectations set by Spot Business Systems for its eighth annual International Users Conference at the Snowbird Ski Resort in Utah.
With the economy slumping and the conference being held in winter for the first time Spot expected lighter than normal attendance at the conference, scaling back to accommodate 50 visitors rather than the usual 100. Those expectations were tapered back a little bit too much.
“This year’s conference was so successful that we had to find room for additional ten attendees and we still turned Spot users away. There was a surprising demand for this year’s conference,” said Mark Jones, the conference administrator as well as the vice president of technology for Spot Business Systems.
Overall, the conference was attended by 60 Spot users representing 39 companies in three countries; 80 percent of those attendees were registered Spot users.
During the conference, new Spot features were discussed, including garment orphan management, web-based Spot dashboard and prior period reporting.
Another feature of the conference was a “What I Did” session were various Spot users offered firsthand accounts of how they used Spot systems to improve their businesses.
“This new segment of the Spot User Conference was well received by all attendees and will be repeated in future conferences,” Jones said.
Spot has a full copy of the 2009 User Conference manual in a PDF file format on its web site located at www.spotpos.com.
