New features for automatic garment handling systems
MAUMELLE, AR — HMC Solutions announced several product updates for its Anytime Cleaning Retriever and Automated Drycleaning Assembly Conveyor.
A new garment transfer unit, a new user interface and a new, smaller kiosk design have been added to Fetch!, the Anytime Cleaning Retriever.
Fetch! gives customers around-the-clock access to their drycleaning. It can be installed in an unstaffed drop store as an economical way to expand business without adding staff or used in a staffed store to reduce staff hours or add 24/7 convenience for customers.
The new garment transfer unit moves garments between the storage conveyor and the kiosk cabinet. This new, patent-pending design also can transfer garments back from the kiosk to the conveyor. This helps the customer/user who may leave one or more garments in the kiosk.
Fetch! automatically senses if an item was left behind, and places the item back onto the storage conveyor so the customer can return later and retrieve it.
Meanwhile, the forgotten items are removed from the kiosk, preventing the next customer who uses the system from gaining access to them.
Additionally, all customers who pick up orders via the Fetch! kiosk are asked if they're satisfied with their order. They can return any unsatisfactory items by hanging them back in the kiosk. The garment transfer unit will then remove the items and place them on the conveyor. The drycleaner is alerted anytime items are returned in this way.
The new user interface gives users more options and better incorporates the Fetch! Anytime Cleaning Retriever theme. Among the new options is an “Express Drop-off” feature that lets return users who only want to drop off bagged garments do so quickly. The system accommodates both new and returning customers.
A new, smaller kiosk design lets Fetch! fit in smaller spaces. A four-foot wide cabinet houses the pick-up and drop-off compartment as well as the system's computerized controls cabinet.
The Automated Drycleaning Assembly Conveyor (ADAC) automates the order assembly process and lets cleaners of all sizes benefit from automation technology for reduction of assembly labor costs, elimination of manual assembly errors, and reduction of assembly space needs.
A new, optional component called ADAC Plus has been added that lets drycleaners implement automated assembly even if interfacing with a POS system is not practical. ADAC Plus provides mark-in stations, each composed of a touch screen workstation with a bar code scanner. Bar codes, permanent or temporary, are used to identify garment information. Additional comments and information for any garment can be entered at the workstation for later printing on the ticket that goes with the completed, assembled customer order.
ADAC Plus is ideal for cleaners who want the advantages of automated assembly but who have no POS system or are not in a position to integrate with their current POS system.

Detergent and softener for resale to customers
SEDALIA, MO — ADCO has introduced AdcoEco, an ecologically friendly detergent and softener sold direct to consumers by drycleaners who want to compete with retail detergents and softeners sold in the cleaning aisle of supermarkets.
The AdcoEco detergent and companion softener offer consumers several advantages over conventional clothes-cleaning products.
First, AdcoEco is biodegradable and free of harmful dyes and perfumes. Clothes smell and feel soft and fresher with less harm to our environment.
Second, both the AdcoEco detergent and softener are highly concentrated. Only one ounce of AdcoEco cleans two full loads of laundry. The 16-oz. bottle cleans 32 full loads compared to conventional 50-oz. retail containers that clean 32 loads.
Third, the larger plastic containers of conventional detergents contain mostly water, creating the illusion of getting more product for less money. Retail consumer product manufacturers expend more energy to deliver these larger bottles around the world, consuming more shipping and trucking fuel which emits more carbon into our atmosphere.
Fourth, the AdcoEco 16-oz. bottle contains 38.7 grams of plastic. The conventional 50-oz. retail bottle contains 92.3 grams of plastic. As a result, less plastic is disposed in landfills.
Finally, consumers will enjoy the convenience of purchasing AdcoEco products while visiting their drycleaner. Drycleaners can provide a high quality, fabric- and color-safe means of caring for their customers' washables as well as dryclean-only garments.

Detergent plus conditioners for leathers
TULSA, OK — Suedes, leathers and furs can be cleaned almost the same as cloth items in any drycleaning or wetcleaning machine using two leather cleaning detergent conditioners from Royaltone.
For drycleaning, the leather cleaning detergent is called Royaltone Detergent Plus Conditioner.
For wetcleaning it is called Prosuede Wet  Detergent Plus Conditioner.
Both detergents stabilize colors and promote softness of suedes, leathers and furs in both drycleaning and wetcleaning. They both contain special proprietary additives that prevent color bleed and ensure softness in cleaning suede, leather or fur.
Detergent Plus works in any drycleaning fluid while Prosuede Wet Detergent Plus Conditioner works in water to stabilize dyes and eliminate color loss. Colors can be mixed without worry about bleed, fade or loss, according to the company.
