Royaltone offering two-day leather class
Leather cleaning school will be back in session this September when the Royaltone Academy hosts a two-day course at its facilities in Tulsa, OK.
The session, which will be held on Sept. 17 and 18, will teach qualified drycleaners how to clean leather, suede and fur garments quite similar to the process they use to clean cloth items.
The training will cover: identification, spotting, wetcleaning, drycleaning, pressing, restoring, mending, sewing, advertising and promoting.
Those who attend will be instructed by Frank Lucenta and his staff. Lucenta is the inventor of the Royaltone Leather Cleaning process as well as numerous cutting edge products that assist those who practice it.
School will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on both days.
During the first day, students will learn about the tanning process, as well as how to identify the skins and peculiarities of suedes and leathers.
Throughout the day, Royaltone instructors will emphasize a variety of specific cleaning-related topics, including: acceptance techniques; invoice ticket preparation; spotting techniques for drycleaning; drycleaning charge levels and run times; testing drycleaning fluid; gluing and sewing; pressing and forming; spotting for wetcleaning and wetcleaning methods; spray finishing; water repelling and sizing; and restoring luster.
A final exam will be given at the end of the day.
On the following day, attendees will undergo a supervised hands-on training session that simulates actual plant operation conditions.
At the end of the day, diplomas will be awarded.
At the conclusion of the course, attendees will receive a copy of Royaltone’s wetcleaning and drycleaning DVDs.
Enrollment in the two-day course is limited to seven plant owners/managers and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost of the instruction manual for the program is $495 per attendee. There are also 50 percent discounts available for multiple attendees who come from the same plant.
The next available courses at the school will not be until next year.
