Award of Excellence cleaners’ customers are eligible to win $100 cash from the Clothing Care Council for
sharing their cleaning experiences.
In a bid to collect testimonials from customers who have experienced exceptional
service and quality from an Award of Excellence cleaner, the Clothing Care
Council will award one winner $100 each month. The contest asks customers to
share their story about why they prefer to have their clothing cleaned by an
Award of Excellence cleaner and share a good experience.
The Clothing Care Council created a poster displaying the particulars of the
contest. All Award of Excellence cleaners received a copy of the contest poster
to display in their stores.
More than 150 companies around the world have attained the Award of Excellence,
passing separate stain removal and cleaning performance tests among other
criteria.
Qualifying for the Award of Excellence is just the first step. In order to
remain in the program, cleaners must adhere to rules designed to ensure that
customers get the service and quality they deserve on every trip. Offering a
money-back service guarantee is one example of this. As a further safeguard,
the company’s cleaning performance and stain removal abilities are reevaluated annually.
“Finding a good cleaner who will consistently treat you like a valued customer
shouldn’t be a guessing game,” Clothing Care Council spokesperson and DLI CEO Bill Fisher said. He added that “becoming an Award of Excellence cleaner is proof that high quality cleaners do
exist — and a good guide for customers.”
The Clothing Care Council was formed to represent the interest of the cleaning
industry, clothing manufacturers, and consumer advisors in identifying those
cleaning plants that provide the level of clothes care that should always be
met. The group began accepting applications for the Award of Excellence for
quality garment cleaning and customer service in June 2005.
Members of the council include representatives from the Good Housekeeping
Institute, apparel manufacturers, the academic sector, and consumer advocates.
