NCA ready to roll with Texcare show
Hundreds of exhibits and numerous live demonstrations will be on hand this month as the National Cleaners Association hosts its Texcare 2009 trade show.
As an added bonus, there will also be free admission for cleaners to the show floor and all of the educational seminars on Saturday and Sunday.
The event will take place on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, NJ. Exhibit hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The free seminars will open on Saturday morning with Alan Spielvogel, NCA’s technical director, discussing “How to Make More Money at the Counter” at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mike Sauce explaining how to develop a web site that works at 9:30 a.m.
The Sunday morning programs begin at 8:30 a.m. with Dwain Jerowski telling how to make the most of search engine optimization and Google. The final program will cover “The Regulatory Mess & Alternative Solvents. Nora Nealis, NCA’s executive director, will be joined by other guests in this 45-minute discussion that begins at 9:30 a.m.
Some of the topics on the itinerary include: SEO (search engine optimization) and your website, or how to get the number one spot on Google; the five rules for a great website; how to get your price every time; and an urgent update on regulations for perc and alternative solvents.

Prior to the weekend Texcare event, NCA will also host a pre-show program all day on Friday, Oct. 16 with guest speaker Lois Geller of the Lois Geller Marketing Group.
The program, “Put your Marketing on Steroids,” will begin at 10 a.m. and run until approximately 5 p.m.
The program is suited for cleaners who are wondering what to do in order to generate more business, retain more customers, build their brand, and take advantage of social media.
The full day seminar will also focus on how attendees can maximize the potential of their websites and get more out of their direct mail marketing programs.
Geller has been involved with direct response marketing and brand building for over 30 years. She has worked with many recognizable companies, including American Express, and she also has an affinity for drycleaning, a subject she has blogged about on her website online located at www.joyofdirectmarketing.com.
Earlier this year, Geller was popular at NCA’s Brainstorming conference with her practical tips on relationship marketing and brand building.

The cost for the event is $495 for NCA members and $595 for non-members. For each additional person from the same plant, the cost is reduced to $245 for NCA members and $295 for non-members. NCA Platinum Members each receive one complimentary ticket.

NEFA plans Fall Fest conference
The North East Fabricare Association is gearing up for its Third Annual Fall Conference in Sturbridge, MA.
The program will be Oct. 9-11 at the Sturbridge Hotel, which is located in central Massachusetts.
