SDA making plans for show in Arlington
The Southwest Drycleaners Association is making plans for Cleaners Showcase
2010, its biennial trade show, which will be held April 23-25 in Arlington, TX.
The Arlington Convention Center, host of the 2008 show, will again be the scene
for an exhibition of laundry and drycleaning equipment, supplies and services.
The nearby Sheraton Hotel will serve as convention headquarters.
In addition to the exhibit, SDA is planning a series of educational programs,
entertainment and social activities. Door prizes and drawings will be presented
during the exhibit.

Leather cleaning class at Royaltone
The Royaltone Leather Cleaning Academy in Tulsa, OK, will have its first course
of the year next month.
Students learn identification, spotting, wetcleaning, drycleaning, pressing,
restoring, mending, sewing, for leathers and suedes using many of the same
techniques and equipment they use in cleaning cloth items, using existing
equipment and using the same chemicals for cloth cleaning. The course also
covers advertising and promoting leather, suede and fur cleaning
The session will be held Feb. 18 and 19.
Upon completion of the class students receive two interactive study guides: “Drycleaning Leather” and “Wetcleaning Leather.”
Class size is limited to provide individual instruction for plant owners and
managers. Frank Lucenta, developer of the Royaltone leather cleaning process,
is the instructor with assistance from Bruce Lucenta, who has four decades of leather cleaning experience.
Attendees learn by hearing, seeing and doing. An instruction manual in English,
Korean or Spanish is provided to all attendees.
A course completion certificate is awarded upon completion along with two DVDs
and interactive study guides.
