WFI heads to Appleton for annual convention
The Wisconsin Fabricare Institute invites cleaners to “Feel the Magic” at its 2010 state convention and tabletop trade show.
The event will be held from March 5 to 7 at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in
Appleton, WI.
The convention’s busy schedule will be punctated by four educational seminars spread out over
the course of the weekend.
First up is a program entitled “The DLI Training Experience” by Karen Swink of Lindeman’s Cleaners. It will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Also on Saturday, drycleaning consultant Jan Barlow will take to the podium to
discuss ways to “Work Smarter, Not Harder in 2010” at 9:15 a.m.
Sunday morning will kick off with sessions on “Understanding Soil and Contamination in the Drycleaning Process” and “New Technology in Cleaning: Solvair” presented by Nick Gagliano of Streets and John Beard of Solvair. The programs
will run from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Afterward, Steve Henshaw of Enviroforensics will
be on hand to deliver “Finding and Using Historical Insurance to Investigate Environmental
Contamination.”
In addition to the educational seminars, WFI will offer a busy schedule of
social networking and business functions.
In keeping with its “Feel the Magic” theme, WFI will feature the magic and comedy of Lou LePore during its Saturday
evening hospitality which will also feature dinner and an awards banquet.
The association will also offer a Friday evening hospitality with a welcome
reception and dinner.
The tabletop exhibits will be open from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, as well.
Full registration packages cost $150 for both members and non-members if
purchased prior to Feb. 26.
That fee includes the Friday dinner package and hospitality, all business
sessions, the Saturday breakfast, lunch and evening banquet, and the Sunday
continental breakfast and closing champagne brunch. Spouses may attend for $125
each.
The cost will go up after Feb. 26 by $20 for all full registration packages.
Individual registration packages may also be purchased, as well.
Rooms at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel are available at a discounted rate of

MCA hosts convention in Red Wing
The Minnesota Cleaners Association will be hosting its 2010 annual convention at
Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Red Wing, MN.
The event will take place on March 19 and 20.
This year, the association’s event committee seeks to offer a thrilling combination of influential and
engaging speakers; however specific details are still being finalized.
MCA’s web site at www.minnesotadrycleaners.org sums up the event succinctly as follows: “We’ll share. We’ll learn. We’ll bowl and we’ll eat like kings!”
