Seminars, live equipment at E & N event
E & N Equipment Co. will have its spring open house with live equipment demonstrations on March 27 and 28.
Saturday hours will be noon to 8 p.m. and will include a hydrocarbon spotting seminar from 3 to 5 p.m.
Sunday hours will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a wetcleaning spotting seminar presented on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Presentations on maintaining efficiency and prolonging boiler life will be offered throughout the show.
On display will be products from Multimatic, Cleaver-Brooks, Sankosha, Feori and Kaeser Compressors.

WFI will “Feel the Magic” at annual convention
There is no magic solution to making your business more successful, but there certainly are some smart lessons to be learned by those who attend the Wisconsin Fabricare Institute’s annual convention March 5-7.
This year’s event will be at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton, WI. Its theme of “Feel the Magic” is reflective of special guest Lou LePore who will headline a night of magic and comedy at Saturday’s banquet dinner.
While that evening plans to be fun, Saturday and Sunday morning promise to be busy with four diversified educational programs that will certainly help you and your business.
Karen Swink of Lindeman’s Cleaners will present “The DLI Training Experience” at 9 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a presentation titled “Work Smarter, Not Harder in 2010” by drycleaning consultant Jan Barlow.
On Sunday morning, Nick Gagliano of Streets will discuss “Understanding Soil and Contaminants in the Drycleaning Process” and Jon Beard of Solvair will be on hand for “New Technology in Cleaning: Solvair.”
At 10:15 a.m., Steve Henshaw from Enviroforensics will offer some advice on “Finding and Using Historical Insurance to Investigate Environmental Contamination.”
Other events on the schedule include a Friday evening reception and dinner at 6:30 p.m. and an allied trades tabletop dessert reception Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Full registration packages are available to all educational and social events for the show at a cost of $170 per member and $145 per spouse. Non-members pay the same rate.

MCA annual convention in Red Wing
The Minnesota Cleaners Association will be heading to the Treasure Island Resort in Red Wing, MN, for its annual convention this month.
Treasure Island offers everything from bowling to bingo, including live entertainment, slot machines, a full service arcade and a state-of-the-art fitness center and pool.
In addition to so many leisure activities, attendees will also have a busy two-day schedule at the convention, which takes place on Friday and Saturday, March 19 and 20.
At 4:30 p.m. on Friday, MCA will host its board of directors meeting. It will be followed by a Past President’s Cocktail Reception & Mixer at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule has yet to be finalized, but it will include MCA’s annual meeting, a morning session of educational programs, allied trades table top exhibits and a keynote speaker presentation.
The convention will adjourn at around 3:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Full registration packages are available to members at a rate of $150. Spouse or family members pay $50 each. The cost for non-members is $200 per person.
