CCA enlists six speakers for Long Beach show show
Whether you’re concerned about improving customer service, drumming up new business or managing your supplies, machinery and the occasional crisis, the California Cleaners Association will be offering a must-see seminar for you to attend in August.
The association’s Fabricare show is set to take place at the Long Beach Convention Center from Aug. 21 to 22.
Prior to the show, however, James “The Route Pro” Peuster will deliver a full-day workshop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the topic of “Do Routes Right or Not At All.”
The program will help cleaners develop routes in order to take their plants to the next level. Everything will be covered, from initial sales to retention.
The cost to attend is $125 per member and only $75 for each additional member from the same company. For non-members, the cost is $175 for the initial registrant and $100 for each additional non-member from the same company.
Another five guest speakers are slated to speak on Saturday and Sunday during the convention. First up will be Milt Chortkoff, owner of Milt & Eddie’s Drycleaners.
He will present “Marketing and Customer Service” from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday. Chortkoff will share some of his most successful marketing techniques that have made his business a leader in customer service.
On Saturday afternoon, eRocketFuel.com CEO John Zimmerman will deliver a seminar on how to “Increase Your Knowledge About Social Networking Sites” at 2 p.m.
He will explain how cleaners can increase their social media marketing Return On Investment, how much time is involved and how social media can benefit your business overall.
On Sunday morning, Norm Korey of Wyatt-Bennett Equipment/Union will be on hand to offer machinery maintenance tips from 9 to 10:30 a.m. There will also be a Korean maintenance instructor, as well.
From 1 to 1:45 p.m., Steve Hong, president and CEO of United Fabricare Inc., will inform his audience on the latest supply management techniques, also accompanied by a presenter who will offer tips in Korean.
Finally, Kenney “The Cowboy Cleaner” Slatten will take to the podium from 2 to 3 p.m. to discuss how plant managers and owners can improve working relationships with their staff in a session on “Crisis Management.”
Also during the weekend, CCA will open its exhibit hall from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. On Saturday evening, the association will install its new 2010-2011 officers and hand out its Drycleaner and Allied Trades Member of the Year awards in a President’s Reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency.
Additionally, CCA will host its annual business meeting on Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
Registration for the show is only $10 for general admission if paid prior to Aug. 1. After that date, it goes up to $15 per person. The cost includes admittance to all of the Saturday and Sunday educational programs, the exhibit hall and Saturday’s President’s Reception.
