NCA hosting “Power at the Counter” in TX Plano
When customers arrive at the front counter of a drycleaning plant, they expect the customer service representative to have all the answers.
If their questions are not answered satisfactorily, it can easily create a bad impression.
This September, the National Cleaners Association will try to help cleaners achieve “Power at the Counter” by presenting a seminar designed to prepare counter personnel, managers and plant owners for all types of questions that customers may pose.
The program will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 4001 E. Plano Parkway in Plano, TX.
NCA Technical Director Alan Spielvogel will spearhead the session which seeks to answer the age-old CSR question: “What do I say when the customer asks (fill in the blank)?”
The class is interactive and includes scripts, role-playing and workshop activities.
The cost is $195 for NCA members and $295 for non-members. Additional people from the same drycleaning plant pay only $95 each. The seminar is free for all of NCA’s Platinum members.

CRDN signs up as sponsor for Collegiate Players Tour
The Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network recently added itself to the ranks of major sponsors for the Collegiate Players Tour, a summer-long golf competition for college-age men and women across the country.
The event first began in 1994. This year, it kicked off its tour in June. It will stop in 11 different cities in nine states before it culminates with the national championship in the Dallas/Forth Worth area from Aug. 16 to 19.
“We are pleased to support these young men and women who excel as students and as athletes,” said CRDN President Chip Bifano. “We also are very proud of our local partners who have committed to being involved with the events in their communities.”
The objective of the Collegiate Players Tour is to provide experience and generate confidence among college golfers. So far, at least eight CPT participants have gone on to play on the pro tour.
According to CPT Executive Director Barry Rodenhaver, sponsors such as CRDN are the backbone of the tour.
“The Collegiate Players Tour sincerely appreciates the support and involvement of CRDN,” he noted. “With organizations like CRDN stepping up and sponsoring our tour, we are looking forward to providing a competitive and rewarding tour for these young people, as well as support for are non-profits. In fact, over the years, the CPT has raised more than $1.5 million for local charities.”
Each year, more than 350 colleges and universities are represented at the CPT.
Starting its 17th year, the Collegiate Players Tour is sanctioned by the Golf Coaches Association of America and the National Golf Coaches Association. For more information, visit its web site at www.collegiateplayers.com.
