PDCA to lead way on “Path to Profits”
The Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners Association’s 2010 Drycleaning and Laundry Expo is set to take place on Sept. 25 and 26 at
the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey.
This year’s theme is “Path to Profits” and expert speakers who will lead seminars throughout the weekend specifically
designed to help cleaners find that path.
The educational program will begin on Saturday morning with a session by Jan
Caon-Barlow where she will describe successful techniques for marketing during
the recession.
She is a drycleaner whose own business has managed to thrive in recent years
despite the sluggish Michigan economy.
Afterward, DLI Vice President of Membership Jon Meijer will take to the podium
to discuss how cleaners can utilize social networking (i.e. Facebook, Twitter
and MySpace) in order to promote and increase their cleaning business.
On Sunday, the seminars will kick off with an offering by PDCA Vice President
Dale Kaplan. He will present a candid report on his recent experience that
followed after disaster struck at his plant.
He will relay some of the things he did right, some things he did wrong and the
final outcome of how it has affected his company,
Closing out the seminars on Sunday will be Route Pro James Peuster. He will
divulge details on how to start a route, maintain it and avoid pitfalls once
you have it up and running.
Registration for the exhibit hall at the PDCA Expo is free for all drycleaners.

for drycleaning and coin laundry operations, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6
p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. More than 60 companies
