CLA gathers top 100 laundry owners for October conference
The recent Major League Baseball All-Star game banded together a little over 70
of the best players in Kansas City.
This October, the Coin Laundry Association will go one better when it gathers
the top 100 laundry owners in one location in Rancho Mirage, CA.
This time, however, it won’t be for a game. The purpose is to share information in a way the coin laundry
industry never has before.
The milestone event, dubbed as the Excellence in Laundry Conference, will be for
CLA members only. It will take place from Oct. 11 to 13 at the Rancho Las
Palmas Resort and Spa.
Throughout the conference, attendees will have many seminars to choose from,
including a program called “Make Your Move” by Alan Beaulieu of ITR Economics.
He will examine how laundry owners can enhance their profitability and gain an
advantage over the competition by knowing what to expect in the future.
“You can make decisions with great confidence by knowing which leading indicators
to look at,” Beaulieu said.
Also scheduled to speak at the event is Robert Spector, author of “The Nordstrom Way.” He has written books about the success of Amazon.com and Starbucks.
His presentation will focus on “The Ultimate Customer Experience” — the concept that all business practices should be predicated on the conscious
choice to improve customer service.
“You need to offer consistent, multi-channel customer service and learn to retain
your customers by establishing long-term relationships with them,” he said.
Another highlight will be the “Insider Secrets” roundtable of experts discussion moderated by Jeffrey Barman and featuring some
of the most successful multi-store laundry owners in the country.
“I’m going to ask the in-depth questions I’ve always wanted the industry’s best to answer,” he noted. “We’ll get beyond the basics into the behind-the-scenes decision making that has
made them successful.”
Also, CLA has planned numerous social events to allow attendees time to relax,
enjoy a meal and network at the same time.
Those planning on making the trip may want to contact Rancho Las Palmas ASAP and
take advantage of a discounted room rate that expires on Sept. 19. The cost is
$189 per night plus tax for convention-goers. Call (866) 423-1195 and reference
CLA.
RMFA plans four seminars in August
