New app will help find SOA cleaners
Consumers looking for good drycleaners will be able to quickly find those who
have achieved the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute’s Seal of Approval status with the free Android app now available.
The app will locate drycleaners in consumers’ area who have the Seal of Approval standards which shows that the cleaner has
passed difficult cleaning and stain removal tests and is qualified to take care
of garments and cleaning of all kinds.
An iOS app is currently in development.
“This app will make it easier for everyone to find their closest and most
convenient Seal of Approval drycleaner,” said DLI CEO Mary Scalco. “The Seal of Approval app points consumers toward those cleaners that offer
excellent customer service and quality cleaning.”
DLI recently announced that the Seal of Approval program reached a milestone
when Evergreen Dry Cleaners of Edmonton, AB, Canada, became the 100th cleaner
to earn the designation.
The purpose of the program is to establish and enforce high-level business
standards and standards of operation, quality and service; establish a way to
communicate a commitment to consumers so that they know which businesses they
can trust; and to single out responsible companies and highlight what they are
doing as best-practice standards.
Businesses have to meet stringent requirements set forth as best practices
within the drycleaning industry.
“Achieving this significant milestone will help us to make the Seal of Approval a
household name in households that are likely to desire top-level cleaning and
customer service,” Scalco said.
A web site that explains the program to consumers can be found at
www.gooddrycleaners.com.
The program is open to all cleaners who meet the DLI standards. To sign up for
the Seal of Approval program in 2013, call Melissa Wagner at (800) 638-2627.
