DLI On the Road drycleaning class to visit Oakland
The Drycleaning and Laundry Institute will be offering another round of its “On the Road” series this November when the association heads to Oakland to present its
five-day “Introduction to Drycleaning” class.
The course is ideally suited for newcomers to the industry or those with little
experience and provides students with a solid foundation for the basic
fundamentals of drycleaning. DLI began the On the Road program to give plant
owners the opportunity to send their employees to the class without having to
pay airfares, hotel accommodations, or leave their families to learn the basics
of the drycleaning business.
With DLI instructor Brian Johnson, topics to be covered will range from sorting
loads to pressing and all the stages in the middle.
Those who attend will learn about cleaning garments including satin, silk and
more; load classification; operating a drycleaning machine; removing stains
including coffee, ink, grease and more; pressing pants, coats and skirts; and
using tensioning equipment to improve finishing quality.
The program will be hosted at James Mosley Equipment, located at 4032 E. 15th
St. in Oakland, CA. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday
through Friday, Nov. 5 to 9.
The cost is $995 per person for CCA members and $1,495 per person for
non-members. The course counts toward 10 Seal of Approval points.
