Machine processes under partial vacuum
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — The Multitex MT-Class drycleaning machines, designed by German engineers specifically for hydrocarbon and silicone solvents, offer a number of advantages, including a feature that protects the solvent in the drycleaning machine from bacteria and contamination.
The MT-Class is based on research into safer and more effective ways of handling delicate fabrics without compromising the ability to clean heavily soiled garments and leathers.
Processing under a partial vacuum has the effect of reducing the surface tension of the solvent, which aids the solvent’s penetration of the fibers. The high dip ensures good mechanical action and maximum cleaning power.
The lower drying temperatures required under vacuum mean that the hot-air temperature is never more than 158°F with an air-off temperature of around 104°F, making it gentle on clothes while reducing energy use.
The entire wash cage, drive mechanism, recovery head and base tank of the MT-Class is mounted on four heavy-duty suspension springs. This, coupled with the low center of gravity, reduces vibration so that no special fittings are required to hold the machine down.
The MT-Class machines feature extraction speeds of up to 811 RPM.
Solvent is pumped over the filter all the time. The machine is running to continually condition the solvent and maintain its cleaning power. The efficient filtration system means that water, fatty acids and loose dyestuffs are completely absorbed into the filtering medium and makes the optional still unit unnecessary.
The machine conserves water consumption (up to 39.63 gallons per cycle) and steam (8.82 pounds per cycle depending on the model) and electricity.
The model MT-300 is designed for  silicone D5 solvent; the model MT-400 is for hydrocarbon solvent.
Multitex will display the machine at Clean ’13 along with its Fresh-Up & Disinfection Cabinet, a unit based on ionization and UV technology to deodorize and disinfect textiles, fur and leather.
