PDCA begins booth sales for 2014 Expo
The Pennsylvania and Delaware Cleaners Association is already gearing up for its 2014
Drycleaning and Laundry Expo convention and exhibit set to take place Oct. 18 and 19.
Once again, the event will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey.
PDCA hopes to eclipse the success of the 2012 show which included over 150 exhibitor
booths and more than 1,200 attendees to visit them.
Currently, the association is offering “Early Bird” discounts for those who sign up for
booth space prior to April 30.
Standard rental fees for 10' x 10' booths typically cost: $1,625 each for one to three;
$1,560 each for four to seven; and $1,525 each for eight or more.
However, prior to the April 30 deadline, the costs are reduced to: $1,555 per booth for
one to three; $1,495 per booth for four to seven; and $1,465 per booth for eight or more.
So far, not all topics and speakers have been finalized for the 2014 Expo, but PDCA is
already working hard on securing vendors for the exhibit hall which will be open from 10
a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19.
The last show, which was free for members of PDCA, featured a stacked lineup of guest
speakers who focussed on the overall theme of “Keep Your Business Going.”
Some of the speakers included National Clothesline columnist Frank Kollman, Drycleaning
and Laundry Institute CEO Mary Scalco, National Cleaners Association Executive Director
Nora Nealis and Coin Laundry Association President and Chief Executive Officer Brian
Wallace.
Jon Meijer of DLI was also at the event. He offered up an overview of all solvent options
available for drycleaners so they could decide which was the best option for their business.
After Meijer’s presentation, PDCA invited numerous solvent company representatives to
answer questions from various members of the audience.
