CLA lists slate of speakers for “excellence” conference
The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, FL, will be the site for this year’s Excellence in
Laundry Conference hosted by the Coin Laundry Association from May 13 to 15.
The event will begin on a Tuesday evening with a welcome reception on the beach at 6
p.m.
The following morning, the association plans a busy session of educational seminars
starting with a session at 8:15 a.m. by Bruce Turkel, CEO of Turkel Brands, a brand
management firm. The program will be called “Seven Steps to Building Brand Value.”
Attendees will learn easy ways to build, maintain and communicate a great brand that
will be more valuable to customers.
At 10 a.m. that morning, Turkel will offer another presentation on “Laundry Branding
Case Studies & Critiques” where he will explain specifically how to apply his principles
using real laundromat brands.
On Thursday, the educational programs will begin at 8:30 a.m. with “Finding the Real
Competitive Advantage in Your Business” by Chuck Bamford, Ph.D., president of Bamford
Associates.
Attendees will hear firsthand how to perform their own competitive analysis and
understand what constitutes the “perfect customer.”
Then, at 10:30 a.m., Joe Crosby, principal of MultiStates Associates, will offer a
legislative update for laundry owners.
Also during the weekend, there will be plenty of time for socializing and fun, including a
gala dinner with entertainment on Wednesday and a farewell beach party on Thursday
afternoon.

Wetcleaning demo coming to Charlotte
A free demonstration of the H2O wetcleaning system will take place at Kleen Solutions
221, E. Exmore St. in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, March 22.
Sponsored by Cleaners Equipment Co. of Charlotte, the demonstration and seminar will
begin at 10 a.m. and will cover understanding wetcleaning and machine operations and
proper use of detergents and conditioners followed by a question and answer session.
Cleaners Equipment will reimburse travel expenses up to $500 for those who purchase a
complete wetcleaning system.

TCATA plans conference in Naples, FL
 The Textile Care Allied Trades Association will be heading to Florida in late April to host
its 2014 Mangement & Educational Conference.
From April 30 to May 3, attendees will gather for the event at the Ritz-Carlton Golf
Resort in Naples.
Those planning on attending may want to secure rooms at the hotel before the deadline
expires on March 28.
The rate is $229 per night plus taxes for a Resort View room for double occupancy. The
rate goes up $25 per day for each additional guest.

Another early deadline attendees should be aware of is April 4. Prior to that date,
registration for the conference costs $775 per member and $350 per spouse; however,
