CCA announces new speakers for Fabricare 2014 trade show
The California Cleaners Association has announced a slate of speakers for its Fabricare 2014
trade show in Long Beach this August.
The event, which will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center, is scheduled to take
place from Aug. 22 to 24.
In the past, over 2,000 professional cleaners from six countries and 30 states have attended
the show.
This year’s list of guest speakers will include Beverly Blank, a past president of the Southern
California Coin Laundry Association. She is also the owner and operator of Beverly’s
Laundromat, a full-service five-star coin laundry in Los Angeles. Her seminar will focus on the
topic of fluff and fold laundry.
Also invited to speak during the weekend is Brian Johnson, director of education for the
Drycleaning and Laundry Institute, and Trudy Adams, director of customer service and sales
for Cleaner’s Supply Inc.
Wayne Wudyka, chief executive officer of the Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network and
bizzie, will present “How Locker-based Delivery is Changing the Dry Cleaning Business.”
Admission to the guest speaker seminars on the weekend is $25 per day, or $50 for both
days.
However, CCA will be offering free admission to the exhibit hall, which will feature additional
free seminars on the show floor about equipment maintenance and environmental regulation
updates.
Exhibiting hours are scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23
and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24.
Those who walk the aisles will have access to all the latest in drycleaning and wetcleaning
machines, finishing and pressing equipment, steam boilers, computer systems, coin laundry
equipment and supplies and more.
In addition to the products and services for sale, Fabricare 2014 will also feature a
Consultant’s Corner in the exhibit hall where attendees will have an opportunity to network
and speak one-on-one with some of the industry’s top consultants.
On Friday evening, prior to the opening of the exhibit hall, CCA has enlisted James “The
Route Pro” Peuster for a special Friday program that will focus on pickup and delivery routes
for the drycleaning industry.
The program is not included with the paid seminars offered on Saturday and Sunday; the
cost is $75 for CCA members and $100 for non-members.
This year’s headquarters hotel will be the Hyatt Regency Long Beach located at 200 South
Pine Ave., located right next to the convention center.
CCA has secured a $189 nightly discounted guest room rate with the hotel for those who
